#Jk's POV…
Hyungie kissed me. But this time was more instinctive and familiar. Still just as sensational, though.
Once he kissed me, his first kiss with me. I drank it in, memorised it, made it a part of me.
Do you know what it means to offer your heart to someone but expecting it to be held, but simply wanting it to be seen?
I do.
I would be your deity, your dream-shelter, your wishing well. Not because you asked. Because I can't help it. Because something in me recognises something in you. Like songs that once shared a melody.
Condemn me if you want. Call me dramatic, delusional, fragile.
Tell me I'm in love with an illusion. Maybe I am. But even illusions can feel like heaven, when they wear your face.
I've seen it…that heaven, in Hyungie's eyes. And tasted something sacred from his lips.
Our lips separated and I felt my cheeks go red.
❝I hope that wasn't, like, obstructive or whatever,❞ he said. Of course, Hyungie was worried about it.
I laughed. ❝No, it wasn't. If you hadn't initiated, I probably would have.❞ True fact. And also, I want to taste you again, like a secret or a sin.
I wish I could say this to you that I need to kiss you so badly. One of those kisses where I'm pressing against you as much as possible and my hands are in your hair and moving down your back, clutching to you in any way I can, kissing you as deeply as possible and thinking you're mine, mine, Mine. If you heard this from me I'm sure you would name me as a pervert.
But this pervert of me is only for you Hyungie.
Shaking his head, Hyungie said, ❝You're really amazing, you know that?❞
❝Oh my god, this is so cheesy,❞ I countered. It was, but I honestly didn't mind.
❝I'm sorry,❞ Hyungie replied. ❝I couldn't help but point out the obvious!❞
I rolled my eyes, remembering the tasks for the day. ❝C'mon, let's go check on the chickens.❞
❝Uh oh, I think they probably hate me.❞ Right. That.
I smiled. ❝Are you sure you just don't want to get…what was it…salmonella?❞ I thought it would be best to make light of the situation.
Hyungie acted out in a very obviously fake faint. ❝Your chickens are going to kill me!❞
❝Very funny. Haha.❞ I wouldn't admit it, but it was sort of…cute? ❝We should actually go outside now.❞
❝Okay, I should probably apologize to them all, anyways,❞ he replied genuinely.
Stifling my laugh, I said, ❝You know they can't understand you, right?❞
❝I know,❞ he said as we walked to the yard. ❝But maybe it'll make you feel better?❞
❝Let's just forget about that, okay? The past is in the past.❞ I desperately wished to stop thinking about that. He'd changed, right?
❝Yeah, okay,❞ he mumbled.
❝I'm sorry, I didn't meant to…❞
❝No, it's okay. We don't need to fight over every little thing, I don't want to end up like my parents.❞
Now I feel bad. I didn't mean to upset him, but he was right. ❝You're right.❞ He smiled. I smiled.
I tossed out the chicken feed. ❝Hey Minnie, come here!❞ Picking up Minnie, I stroked her neck. ❝See!❞
❝Alright, they're actually kinda cute,❞ Hyungie admitted.
❝That's what I've been trying to tell you!❞

It was Friday, after school. ❝Bye, Hyungie! I'll see you on Monday!❞
❝But Kookie,❞ he replied as he walked out the front door. ❝Wait, what colour of outfit are you gonna wear?❞
❝Huh?❞ Oh the dance!
❝The dance,❞ he said confusedly. ❝We're going together, right?❞
❝Yeah! Umm …I think purple?❞ I wasn't really sure, but I guess I had decided now. Purple is a nice colour.
❝Okay, I'm sure you'll look beautiful,❞ replied Hyungie. He grinned at me and waved. ❝Bye!❞ My heart fluttered.
❝Bye, I'll see you on Monday!❞ I was still thinking about his compliment.
I walked back inside and my Papa was standing nearby. ❝So, should we go dress shopping now?❞
❝I guess so,❞ I replied with a laugh. For whatever reason, I didn't mind that he had heard my conversation with Hyungie.
❝He really likes you,❞ my Papa doted. ❝Taehyung is a nice young man.❞ Classic him, gushing over little things like that.
I rolled my eyes. ❝Stop being weird, Pa!❞ He chuckled and grabbed the keys off the table.
❝Let's go, then, shall we?❞
❝We shall.❞

We had driven all the way to the next town to go to the ❛nicer❜ dress shop. ❝Tell me again, pa, what's wrong with the store in our town?❞
He sighed. ❝This is a big day for you! I want you to look absolutely wonderful, and the clothes here are nicer. And have more options.❞
❝Doesn't that make them more expensive?❞ I asked. I didn't want him to have to spend his hard-earned money on a dress I'd wear once. He now worked part-time at a preschool and at the grocery store on the weekends.
Shaking his head, he gave me a look of disapproval. ❝Yes. It does. But you've been so good recently, so kind and your grades are absolutely stellar.❞ Ok, but when aren't they? ❝So this is my little gift to you.❞
Reluctantly, I agreed. ❝Alright, fine, let's go find a positive purple outfit for you.❞ He teased me.
❝Oh, the dance is going to be such a great memory for you!❞ I think he was more excited than I was.
My eyes scanned the racks until they landed on a little blue & lilac item. It is a light blue sheer or translucent button-up shirt or jacket worn over a Lilac, possibly satin or silk, button-up shirt.
❝Go try it on,❞ my papa commanded. I hadn't noticed him lurking over my shoulder.
❝But the price…❞
❝I saw it,❞ he said firmly. ❝You seem to like the dress. Go try it on.❞
I nodded. Removing a dress in my size from its resting place. I walked off to the dressing room. It felt breathable. The light blue shirt and especially the translucent jacket suggest lightweight, potentially breathable fabrics like linen, cotton blends, or sheer synthetics, which are comfortable for extended wear.
And the overall fit of the clothing, particularly the jacket and trousers, appears relaxed rather than restrictive, allowing for ease of movement.
The lilac & light blue and white color scheme contributes to a visually airy and fresh feel, often associated with comfortable, casual wear.
Papa gave me a simple beaded necklace which suited this outfit perfectly. The simple beaded necklace does not appear to add any significant weight or discomfort.
❝Wow…❞
❝Come out and let me see it, honey,❞
My Papa said from the other side of the curtain.
I pushed the scratchy grey fabric to the side and walked out to where he sat. ❝What do you think?❞
❝You look perfect,❞ he exclaimed. ❝Do you want this one?❞
❝Well, yes, but the cost…❞
❝Don't worry about it. As I said, I'll get it for you,❞ he said sternly yet soothingly.
And so I went and changed back into my regular clothes, carefully carrying the outfit back out to the register. I cringed as I watched the money exchanged to purchase the dress.
❝Thank you, Pa.❞
❝My pleasure,❞ he replied while pecking my forehead.
