Carlos's POV
I was taken aback when Amara cut the call so suddenly. She didn't even let me complete what I was saying, clearly too eager to get her hands on the cash I'd offered.
I let out a derisive laugh and transferred twenty thousand dollars to her account.
Twenty grand was pocket change to me. Still, I couldn't stop myself from muttering with contempt, "You actually believe you're superior to your sister. Amara Ian, if you'd engage that brain of yours for just a moment, you'd understand why you're always stuck with married losers."
"But then again, thinking isn't exactly your strong suit," I said before switching my phone to airplane mode and drifting off to sleep within minutes.
