Grace's POV
"Before I share this with you, I need two promises from you, Vita," I said.
"What promises would you need from me, Ma'am?" Vita responded. She held no suspicion against me since she understood I was a decent person, and Vita would back me completely, particularly when it came to eliminating that witch.
"First, this stays between us," I emphasized. "Under no circumstances can you breathe a word of this to Amara, or everything falls apart. That's non-negotiable."
"That's simple enough, Ma'am," Vita replied.
"It won't be as straightforward as you think, Vita," I exhaled heavily. "Your temper runs hot, and I can't have you blurting out something foolish when Amara gets under your skin. So give me your word."
"You have it, Ma'am!" Vita declared firmly. "My lips are sealed around her—not a single word!"
The conviction in her tone satisfied me. "Good. Second, once you hear our strategy, you need to drop the antagonism toward Mr. Sinclair."
