Grace's POV
"Um, Grace…" Jacqueline hesitated, gathering her nerve before continuing, "We've got a situation because of Holmes."
I studied Jacqueline and Holmes with suspicion. "What kind of mess has your boyfriend made now, Jacqueline?" This wasn't Holmes's first rodeo when it came to causing problems with his reckless attitude and complete lack of responsibility.
"Well, I'm not sure I can say this without making you furious, but Holmes isn't entirely to blame," Jacqueline said, clearly trying to soften my inevitable anger toward Holmes.
'It's absolutely Holmes's fault,' I thought bitterly. "Just spit it out, Jacqueline. I don't have forever."
Jacqueline swallowed hard, stealing a glance at Holmes. The middle-aged man squeezed her hand beneath the table, offering what little comfort and courage he could. "A—Recently, Holmes admitted he hooked up with some woman from Facebook. They connected right away, and they had unprotected sex."
