Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Haki Leon, You Guy

[They're all Hoyoverse games—shared settings are normal.]

[You're focused on that? Shouldn't we be talking about why a Harmony character unleashed such a brutal, enemy-crushing effect?]

[Such a cold, commanding skill line—I'm pregnant on the spot!]

[Ah Xian, don't zone out, say something!]

"What zoning out? I was chanting the Great Compassion Mantra to avoid fainting from Leon's hotness."

[???]

Ah Xian reopened the combat info screen, finding the skill wasn't a team buff.

Switching to the enemy interface, the details bar was packed with text.

[Candle Shadow Time-Trace Calamity]

[Non-removable] Enemy targets in the barrier enter [Trace-Back] state.

When attacked, 28% of the damage dealt is recorded.

At the start of the next target's turn in the barrier, the recorded [Trace-Back] damage is triggered.

If the attacker's speed is 180 or higher, [Trace-Back] triggers immediately after the attack.

"…Is SP Leon Harmony or Nihility?"

"This skill's a debuff, applied to enemies."

"And didn't you notice? His ultimate dealt multi-hit AoE damage."

"There are Harmony characters whose skills hit, like Asta."

"But a skill applying a reverse buff to enemies? That's a first."

"People saying the numbers are low—didn't we just say? Level 40, unupgraded skills. Of course it's low."

"This Trace-Back state is unique, like a new independent multiplier…"

Ah Xian understood a lot but wasn't a guide expert, so her analysis lacked depth.

Without hesitation, she contacted Katiya.

Independent multiplier or not, seeing is believing.

When Stelle attacked an enemy, a single damage number popped up.

At the next target's turn, the damaged enemy settled a green number.

Simple math showed the green number was indeed 28% of the white damage.

Breaking an enemy with physical weakness triggered Bleed DoT, followed by a corresponding 28% damage.

Here, Katiya confirmed Leon's ultimate was an independent multiplier.

"Super premium!"

"More premium than resistance shred or vulnerability!"

"Those multipliers are rare but not unique—future characters might have them."

"Leon's ultimate is different, with a unique effect name. No other character will have this Trace-Back state."

"Unless, until the game shuts down, his Trace-Back stays an independent multiplier."

"Oh, forgot to mention—it records final damage and settles 28% more!"

"Terrifying!"

"Conclusion: Big Leon is a born multi-support saint."

"And that pull with unknown trigger conditions—I think it's an extra turn…"

Ah Xian paused.

Seele has an extra turn, right?

If she recalled correctly, extra turns don't consume buffs.

Katiya: "Don't use skills. Scrape with basic attacks to find Leon's pull trigger pattern."

Ah Xian: "OK."

Soon, they concluded.

It seemed that after four total turns from all characters on the left action bar, Leon's pull triggered.

It was confirmed as an extra turn that didn't consume buffs.

Katiya's heart skipped a beat.

Massive team-wide speed boosts, an independent damage multiplier, and the ability to grant extra turns.

Haki Leon, you guy… are you trying to break Honkai: Star Rail?

Currently, the only five-star Harmony is Tingyun. If paired with her for support, her pull speeds up main DPS buff consumption.

Leon had no such flaw—extra turns were just that dominant.

Level 40 with these numbers—full-level skills were unthinkable.

Even scarier:

He had three locked major Traces, six Star Souls, and an unknown signature weapon.

Based on existing Harmony characters, one major Trace likely boosts support.

If his Star Souls and signature weapon also had strong support effects…

Katiya didn't dare think further.

"Haki Xian and fellow heroes, we Star Rail players are about to start a grand soap opera at launch."

"What?" Ah Xian asked instinctively.

"Waiting for Big Leon, like waiting for Shenhe in Genshin. Except Shenhe was for waifu appeal; Big Leon's for power."

"Let me correct you—power and waifu appeal."

"My bad, my bad." Katiya laughed. "Based on Hoyoverse's past, Big Leon will likely get a new skin when he releases."

"Definitely. No need to hide his five-star portrait otherwise."

Seeing some confused chat comments, Katiya explained.

"You don't have a strong team-building concept yet, so just hearing analysis might be hard to grasp."

"Once the main story's done and Chaos grinding starts, those with Bronya will see how crucial pulling is in turn-based games."

"Then, looking back at Big Leon's mechanics in the story, it'll all click."

"You'll realize how terrifying combining Tingyun and Asta's skills is."

Speaking of which, Katiya stared at Leon's health bar, recalling an overlooked detail.

"Oh, right—Leon seems to lose HP when triggering the pull. Not sure why."

Ah Xian blinked. "That's a thing?"

With five enemy waves, she wasn't worried about the fight ending abruptly.

After four more actions, the pull triggered, and sure enough, Leon's HP dipped slightly.

"Of all current characters, only Arlan loses HP using skills… Blade's not out yet…"

Hearing this, Katiya chuckled. "Think this HP loss is a knife?"

"No way. If it's a knife, how do you explain Arlan?"

"Didn't you hear the pull's voice line clearly?"

"Something about divine charm, mountains, rivers, pearls?"

"No, it's 'Body Falls, Mountains and Rivers Stand.' Body, fall, stand—think about it."

Ah Xian's eyes widened, her heart jolting.

She was ready to curse!

Her beloved paper husband—why did his SP form bury even more knives?

"Hoyoverse, I'm begging you to be kind."

"Don't worry, they'll be kind. They won't knife Leon."

"Then…"

"At least not in the launch version."

"Without that line, we'd still be friends."

"Just kidding, don't stress. Anyway, Leon's pull is definitely a talent. Since we can't see skill info in combat and he's not in a banner yet, there's nothing more to dig into."

The call ended, and Ah Xian didn't dawdle, quickly finishing the fight.

Another CG played.

"Another story cutscene? Hoyoverse's burning money—it feels so unfamiliar."

Leon reverted to his four-star form.

He was dual-wielding pistols, shooting Fragmentum monsters.
