At first their was darkness. I could feel myself being dragged down. As if at one moment I had been adrift like a leaf floating in a river stream and the next a stone sinking down towards the river bed.
I shot up right gasping for breath. I tried to calm down as I kept gasping for air it felt like I couldn't get enough of it. I focused on my surroundings to steady myself. The air tasted stale, the ground under me felt rough and uneven. I looked around and saw that the wall were smooth and made of stone. Glancing upwards to see glowing green moss covering the sealing. As far as I could tell I was in some kind of cave.
I tried to stand up but I felt wobbly like their was something wrong with my body. I looked down to see I was naked. No that's not right I was covered in scales and was wearing what barley be considered a loin cloth. I looked behind me to find that I had a tail.
I looked around and found a puddle nearby. I tried to walk over to it. It was a slow process as if I was relearning how to walk. But with each step some part of me began to adjust as if my mind and body were beginning to connect. By the time I made it to the puddle I nearly regained my center of balance.
The puddle was mostly clear and with the light from the glowing moss above it worked as a blurry mirror.
My first thoughts was that I was some kind of bipedal lizard. My face or snout was narrow. My eyes were similar to an alligator except with golden irises. I reached behind my head to feel two nub like horns. I was covered in red scales except on my chest were they took on a light copper shade and my hands were equipped with inch long black claws on each finger.
"What am i", I asked not expecting an answer. "Say the word status" a voice in my head whispered. I looked around trying to find were the had come from but as far as I could tell I was alone. Having no better ideas I said the word status.
A blue screen suddenly appeared in front of me.

'So I'm a Kobold and apparently nameless', Deciding to ignore how weird this situation felt I pushed on. First I decided to give myself a Name, not giving it much thought I went the first thing that came to mind. "My name is Draken".
'Name: Draken'
Next I tapped on my race, I figured it would help to know what exactly I am.
'Race: Kobolds are a minor race considered the lowest of the dragon blooded races. They are usually around 3-4 ft tall with Red and copper scales and only slightly stronger than goblins. Usually travel in packs to make up for their short stature and craft rudimentary weapons to fight stronger enemies. Although weakest of their brethren they are one of the few races that have the devour ability. Although due to their lacking intelligence they are unable make good use of such ability.'
My race sounds pretty weakalthough that devour ability sounds interesting. Moving on I tapped stats next.
[Stats]
Strength:8
Constitution:7
Intelligence:10
Wisdom:7
Dexterity:8
Perception:7
Luck:9
With no real point of reference I couldn't really tell if my stats were off the charts or trash. Until I could find a another point of reference I would assume the worst and hope for the best, moveing on to skills.
[Skills]
Bite(E), passive: When biting an enemy your bite strength is 5% stronger.
Claw(E), passive: When clawing an enemy your claws do 2% cutting damage.
Even without another point of reference I could tell these two skills suck. But the last skill more than made up for them.
Devour(C), passive: Devour your prey for the chance to earn rewards such as skills, stats, and other benefits. Warning this ability has 1 out of 10 chances of succeeding and only works on prey equal or stronger than you.
This ability could be game changing if used the right way. Especially considering that my race was considered one of the weakest, meaning almost nothing was off limits. Although if other Kobolds had this skill why were we considered so weak.
Before I could continue exploring my status I was interrupted by the sounds coming from the end of the cave entrance. It seemed I was no longer alone.
