The Weight of a Name
As soon as Victor said her name, the darkness itself froze, as if even the wind was holding its breath to hear.
"S–Sasha."
The name came out of his mouth like a thing and it made him shake because it was something they had not talked about for a very long time. It just stayed there in the air, quiet and sharp cutting through the silence like a piece of metal. The fountain, behind her was making a sound water falling on rocks and it was like the fountain was whispering too its sound mixing with the sound of his voice. The moon was shining on the water. It made her hair look like it was made of gold like the stars were caught in her hair and it was shining so brightly. The moonlight was moving across the water making everything look silver and pretty. It was a really beautiful sight.
