Between Streets and Shadows
The carriage moved back and forth as it went through the middle of the city. The sun was low in the sky it looked like gold. It made the clouds look like they were on fire. All the buildings and all the corners looked a little blurry in that light the world, around the carriage seemed special and old. The city looked nice in that light the carriage and the city and the buildings all looked nice. The sun made the city look like a place, a place that did not change the city and the carriage and the buildings all looked nice in the sun. Dust floated around in the air. It caught the light. The sound of a street vendor yelling from away came up to meet the dust. This sound mixed with the thud of horse hooves, on the cobblestone street. The street vendor and the horse hooves made a sound together with the dust dancing in the air.
