Chapter 80 - Ch.80

From the perspective of their mythical status, their strength parity was indeed strange. However, Luo Guang could guess the reason.

The strength of an Unrighteous God is not directly correlated with its status, identity, or fame in mythology. What determines their power is whether they are "unrighteous," and whether they possess an unshakable self—an unyielding identity. The more self-contained and obsessive they are, the greater their power, regardless of their mythical grandeur or the breadth of their following. Thus, let alone Vishnu, even if the God of the Bible were to become an Unrighteous God, its strength might be weaker than some minor deities from obscure myths.

Furthermore, Luo Guang suspected that Vishnu's appearance was likely due to human intervention. This was similar to the situation in the source material, where the power of Tōshō Daigongen was constructed using Juryoku gathered from across Japan, and the Jutsu-shiki (spell formula) "Bi Ma Wen" was developed based on ancient legends. This spell was then applied to the head of the Unrighteous Sun Wukong (Great Sage Equaling Heaven), demoting him to the Monkey God, and sealing him within the Western Palace of the Tōshō-gū shrine. Whenever a serpentine or draconic being caused chaos, a miko with the ability to "ward off calamity" would use a sacred blade capable of weakening the Jutsu-shiki to release the Monkey God. Once freed from the seal, the Monkey God would naturally be drawn to the divine nature of the serpentine God and proceed to the battlefield. After slaying the serpentine God, the Compilation Committee would reinforce the Jutsu-shiki and re-seal the Monkey God.

Vishnu's situation was likely similar. It was unclear why he had descended in the past and why he had been sealed by Indian sorcerers. But at least for now, the so-called Unrighteous Vishnu was merely their weapon of war.

As for why he immediately attacked Rahu upon being released, this was related to the characteristic enmity between Unrighteous Gods. The God Slayer world features the inherent antagonism between "Gods of Steel" and "Dragon and Snake Gods." Though both are Unrighteous Gods, they are fated, mortal enemies who must inevitably clash. Gods of Steel gain immense power or authority by defeating Gods with Dragon and Snake characteristics, becoming dazzling figures in mythical history.

Although Vishnu is one of the Trimurti, he is also a God of Steel who slays Dragon and Snakes. Rahu has the head of a beast and the hair of a snake, and in the myth, he had his head chopped off by Vishnu for stealing the nectar of immortality. Moreover, Vishnu has a serpent-monster mount named Ananta. All of these are symbols of Vishnu as a God of Steel.

"I will surely kill you today! And then I will unleash the flood and submerge this place!" Rahu roared in anger. He had been sealed by Vishnu thousands of years ago, and now that he was finally free, he was determined to consecrate his descent with divine blood.

Seeing that the wild boar avatar was helpless, Vishnu actively changed his strategy. He used the wild boar's snout to forcibly ram Rahu's body away, then rapidly changed his form. He flew up, transforming into a streak of crimson light soaring into the sky. Following this, under the black night sky shrouded by clouds, a brilliant chakra suddenly erupted. A sun appeared in the sky.

Where the sun's light reached, the dark clouds were instantly dispersed, and the venomous snakes that were aggressively biting were immediately vaporized. The sun rose high, releasing white fire of destruction (kalpa fire) that stained the ground a deep red.

Rahu screamed in pain. His body was burning in the solar disc.

But the solar disc was not the main focus. From the great sun suddenly emerged a knight riding a white horse. The knight had a typical Indian appearance but possessed pale blue skin. He wore a golden crown, held a shield in his left hand and a saber in his right. The great sun formed a halo behind his head. Like a meteor trailing a fiery tail, he descended from the sky, charging fiercely toward Rahu.

"Be slain by me, King of Asuras! Your existence brings calamity to this world! Killing you will end this dark age of Kali, and the world will welcome a new era of purity, justice, and peace! Afterward, I shall continue to wander this earth, searching for the Demon Kings, slaying them to save the people, or being slain by them to return to the heavens!"

"Get out of the way, Vishnu!" Rahu glared at the burning white knight, his eyes filled with hatred. He poured river water over his body, extinguishing the flames. Countless plumes of steam filled the atmosphere, obscuring vision.

He then took a long bow in one of his arms and an arrow in the other. He drew the bowstring fully and unleashed a shower of arrows...

And Vishnu swung his curved saber, releasing the white fire of destruction once more. Rahu's body was again ignited, making him roar and howl, while Vishnu's body and the white horse sustained countless piercing and cutting wounds.

The tide of the battle once again exceeded Luo Guang's expectations. He hadn't thought that after being suppressed, Vishnu would manage to achieve another stalemate. This was likely due to Vishnu being a 'domesticated' weapon of war and Rahu being the King of Asuras with an extremely powerful self. The power of the two was now nearly equal.

"If this continues, they might both end up mutually destroying each other, like the two Gods on Sardinia Island."

Although the best outcome would be mutual destruction, the probability of either Rahu or Vishnu killing the other in the very next second was infinitely increasing. After finally finding two Unrighteous Gods, even killing one while letting the other escape would be a huge loss. Moreover, this was his first act of God-slaying. By convention, any first-time God Slayer is considered successful regardless of the method used.

This meant that if he let one escape, and the other's injuries weren't fully healed, his subsequent attempt to slay the escapee might not be recognized by the presiding Goddess Pandora. To succeed, he had to kill both Unrighteous Gods here and now.

In other words, he had to intervene immediately.

Luo Guang abandoned all complex thought and reverted to the mindset of the Fool.

"Aiz, Ddraig, it's time to get serious."

"I am Luo Guang's sword. Everything as you wish."

"Let's go, Partner! I've been ready for ages!"

Aiz's voice remained calm, while Ddraig was exceptionally excited. The curiosity about this new world and the upcoming struggle for life greatly stimulated the nerves of the Red Dragon Emperor.

Silver light flashed, and the Aiz (Demon-Slaying Holy Sword) was grasped by Luo Guang. A tide of crimson armor quickly covered his body, transforming him into an ochre-red humanoid Dragon Knight.

But he wasn't done yet. The great deed of God-slaying was now at stake, and he could not afford a single mistake. To kill both Unrighteous Gods as quickly as possible, Luo Guang chose to unleash the power of the Juggernaut Drive at this very moment.
