The awakened Unrighteous God began to rage and wreak havoc across the land of New Delhi. Typhoons, torrential rain, gales, and earthquakes radiated outward, affecting more than half of the city's urban area. People on the ground were dying one after another, but they only perceived it as a natural disaster.
Facing this sudden catastrophe, India's magical societies were at a loss, as the actions of mortals proved insignificant. Against the might of an Unrighteous God, anyone's strength was nothing more than a mantis trying to stop a carriage.
However, they were not entirely without options. They understood the local situation best. Through the nature of the disasters, the sorcerers had roughly guessed the God's essence and were beginning to prepare methods to counteract it. Just as magic must be solved with magic, if an Unrighteous God was causing chaos, they could only rely on the power of a deity to resist.
"Kill whom?" Liliana asked, still completely bewildered. Even now, she didn't know who the man in front of her was. He was neither a cultist nor did he look like a sorcerer; his clothes made him seem entirely like a tourist from a foreign country.
"The Unrighteous God."
Hearing that phrase, Liliana's heart tightened. She could already tell from the commotion that the cultists' purpose was to summon a God, but she didn't know if they had succeeded. If they had, then where was the Unrighteous God?
Boom—!
The earth shook again. Liliana quickly plunged her sword into the mud of the hillside to keep her body stable. But when she looked back at Luo Guang, the maiden was slightly stunned. Even with such intense shaking, the man was still standing perfectly straight. This detail further confirmed to Liliana that he was no ordinary person.
Once the tremor subsided, she asked again, "Do you know which God has awakened?"
"I don't know, but I will soon."
In truth, combining the sacrificial objects in the cave with the snake pattern emerging from the blood, Luo Guang already had a general idea. Venomous snakes plus a beastman's face. Gods with similar imagery were numerous in world mythology. However, limiting the scope to Hindu mythology greatly narrowed the possibilities. The Asura clan in Hindu mythology, especially Rahu, fit the description. But he needed to make direct contact to be absolutely certain.
Just as Luo Guang prepared to move, a distinctive and powerful aura approached from the horizon. A golden spirit fish rode the floodwaters that were overrunning the land. Its figure was like a golden bolt of lightning, surging toward a deep water area not far from Luo Guang.
The fierce wind slightly diminished. And Liliana finally caught a glimpse of the deity the cultists had awakened. In the storm, an ugly beastman head with scarlet eyes radiated immense malice. Venomous snakes grew out of its black hair, flicking their tongues at the spirit fish. The rest of its body was concealed by the rain and mist, making it difficult to see clearly.
But even with just this much, Luo Guang confirmed the Unrighteous God's identity.
To Liliana's look of fear, the terrifying beastman head suddenly split into a grin and let out a roar: "Vishnu, after thousands of years, do you still intend to obstruct me here?"
The wind and rain were so shaken by the intense aura and voice that they paused. The full appearance of the Unrighteous God was revealed to Luo Guang and Liliana. The head remained the same, but the lower body, previously hidden by the storm, was largely human-like. The only two differences were that it had four arms and a long, furred leopard tail. A frightening pattern was drawn on its muscular chest. Its robust body was as tall and vast as a small mountain.
This was an Asura. A child of the Daitya King Viprachitti and Simhika in Hindu mythology, the King of Meteors and Asuras. It also symbolized solar and lunar eclipses and was an evil deity that could interfere with human destiny and national fortune, bringing disaster to the earth and causing everything to return to darkness—the malevolent God Rahu.
"If that is the case, then I shall sever your head here and use it to bathe in the delicious nectar!" The fully manifested Rahu roared skyward.
In Hindu mythology, Rahu was a purely malevolent deity who constantly wrought evil. Even after the myth's evolution, Rahu's image as a villain has remained unchanged, and in some cases, even lowered in status. At least in Hindu mythology, Rahu was a dominant Asura King. However, in Chinese mythology, he was demoted and equated with the Twelve Astrological Houses. Nevertheless, this demotion ironically led to his influence expanding among the populace from the Northern Song dynasty onward. As a celestial symbol, Rahu was often used by emperors to legitimize their own status.
And as Rahu's opponent this time, the Spirit Fish's origin was far greater.
Hindu mythology has the Trimurti (Three Forms). Brahma is the creator, Shiva the destroyer, and Vishnu the preserver. The many tribulations of mankind are famous in mythology, and Vishnu's stories of changing forms and descending to save the world to protect humanity are widespread and well-known. Vishnu has ten main avatars, and the "Matsya (Fish) Avatar" is Vishnu's first incarnation. When the world was flooded, he transformed into the Spirit Fish, dragged the Ark, and saved the human progenitor, Manu.
However, judging solely by the auras, Vishnu was clearly being suppressed by the current Rahu. The Spirit Fish's huge body charged at Rahu, but it was forcefully held back by Rahu's four hands. Although its body was pushed back several hundred meters, the venomous snakes left countless wounds on the Spirit Fish's body.
The battle between the two Unrighteous Gods affected the surrounding area. The earth cracked, the rivers churned, and even the sky was torn apart. This was a battle unimaginable to mortals. Even the strongest human sorcerers and Holy Knights could only desperately flee in the presence of a descending Unrighteous God.
This was the power of the Unrighteous Gods. They were walking natural disasters, harbingers of despair. When they descend upon the earth as Unrighteous Gods, regardless of whether their mythical image was benevolent or evil, the result is always death and despair for humanity.
Except for Luo Guang.
The battle between the Unrighteous Gods was truly terrifying. The mere aura far surpassed the Devil-Class beings in the DXD world. Liliana was trembling, her beautiful face showing fear. If even she was like this, ordinary people were certainly faring much worse.
"Two Unrighteous Gods. They truly gifted me a generous present."
"Since that's the case, I'll accept both of them."
Luo Guang walked forward, bracing against the storm. But just as he called out to Ddraig, he heard a voice from behind him.
"Don't go."
