Time flew by, and soon it was afternoon.
It was just past four o'clock.
After finishing the day's student council work, Lin said goodbye to Shinomiya Kaguya, Fujiwara Chika, and Manabe Nodoka.
He left school and returned home.
On the way, he encountered a few malevolent imps and eliminated them instantly with his psychokinesis.

"Welcome home, Kobayashi-san."
Tohru stood in the entranceway, greeting Lin with a beaming smile.
"I'm back."
Hearing this form of address, a peculiar glint flashed in Lin's eyes, but a smile appeared on his face as he nodded at Tohru.
Yesterday, Tohru had heard Akashiya Moka constantly calling him 'Bai-chan'.
It was a very intimate way to address someone.
So, after some thought, Tohru decided to call him 'Kobayashi-san'.
It felt strange to him.
He never thought he'd escape the Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid reference.
Even though this Kobayashi wasn't that Kobayashi.
Handing his school bag to Tohru, Lin said to her, "Tohru, I have a meeting with someone later and will be eating out. If you're not having dinner, you don't need to prepare anything."

She still hadn't snapped out of it.
Seeing this, Lin took a moment to look her over.
Today, she was wearing a long-sleeved, black V-neck knit shirt.
It stretched over the two peaks on her chest.
Her fair collarbones were clearly visible.
Below them was the valley between the peaks.
An abyss that seemed to swallow one's gaze.
Paired with white tapered capri pants.
A white belt cinched her waist slightly, making it appear slender.
Her long, shapely legs were wrapped in black pantyhose, making them look perfectly straight, and she wore black low-heeled shoes.
The outfit perfectly accentuated her figure.
She wore light makeup, with her eyes and eyebrows defined, and her lips were coated in a glossy, rosy lipstick.
Her figure-hugging attire, combined with her refined, mature face and capable yet gentle demeanor, gave her a strong "onee-san" aura.
She made one want to dive into her arms and feel her warm embrace.
As he observed Machida Sonoko, who was still staring blankly at him, Lin raised an eyebrow and stood up, walking over to her.
He waved his right hand in front of her face:
"Hey, hey, snap out of it."
Called out like that, the dazed Machida Sonoko finally jolted back to her senses, looking at Lin with a surprised expression:
"I say, Bai-sensei, you didn't go and get plastic surgery, did you?"
Good heavens, he's just too handsome.
So good-looking it makes my heart flutter.
Her gaze uncontrollably fixed on Lin's flawless face, and Machida Sonoko quietly swallowed.
Her heartbeat couldn't help but quicken.
"Do you think I need to?"
Lin spread his hands with a smile, closed the door, and walked back to his seat.
"I suppose not…"
Machida Sonoko blinked upon hearing his words.
After all, Lin was already very handsome to begin with.
She walked over and sat down across from Lin, staring at him intently.
She realized his face was still the same face.
It was just that no matter how she looked at it, it seemed more pleasing, more handsome.
Compared to the Lin she had seen a month ago, he now gave off the strange feeling of being a completely different person.
She stared at Lin, slightly lost in a daze again.
"Stop staring, or you're going to start drooling."

Machida Sonoko saw the ordering tablet on the table and quickly changed the subject.
Seeing this, Lin smiled and nodded.
The two of them quickly ordered their food and drinks.
Noticing that Machida Sonoko hadn't ordered any alcohol, Lin raised an eyebrow and asked, "Not drinking, Machida-san?"
"Don't worry, drink up. If you get drunk, I promise I'll get you home safely."
"Then let's have a little."
Machida Sonoko hesitated for a moment upon hearing this, then smiled and nodded.
Time flowed like water through fingers.
Half an hour passed in the blink of an eye.
Machida Sonoko finished the last glass of 'Juyondai' sake, a cherry-blossom blush coloring her fair face.
A hint of intoxication appeared in her eyes.
Her sea-blue eyes seemed to ripple like water.
Making her gaze appear somewhat hazy.
She looked at Lin, a smile on her lips, and said, "Thank you, Bai-sensei. I was very satisfied with this meal."
"I'm glad you were satisfied."
Lin gave her a slight smile.
"Let's go. I'll take you home."
With that, Lin stood up.
"Thank you, then."
A flicker in her eyes, Machida Sonoko smiled, nodded, and expressed her thanks.
After paying the bill, Lin and Machida Sonoko left the restaurant.
They went to the roadside, and Lin immediately hailed a taxi.
The two of them took the taxi to Toshima Ward.
The apartment Machida Sonoko was renting was located there.
Arriving below the apartment building, Lin glanced up at the sixteen-story structure and looked at Machida Sonoko:
"So this is where you live, Machida-san."
"That's right. Want to come up for a bit?"
Machida Sonoko stood beside Lin, the corners of her lips turning up in a smile as she spoke.
"Sure, let's go."
Lin smiled and nodded.
"Huh…"
Machida Sonoko was slightly taken aback.
She had only meant it as a polite gesture and hadn't expected Lin to actually agree. It would be awkward to back out now.
