Chapter 7 - A conversation between friends

6 A conversation between friends

Rodion didn't know to what extent his actions would impact this World, but one thing was certain, big changes are coming, it was early in the morning when Alex and Rodion began their training .

"Why do I have to use a sword? You know I'm better at using my fists to fight."

Alex complained when his friend gave him a short sword.

"Faced with an armed enemy, you prefer to fight unarmed? Isn't that just foolish?"

"I would rather use a bow or a spear, I'm not good with a sword"

"That's why I'm here to teach you, a sword is a short-range weapon and it offers a lot of mobility to its user for coliseum battles, which is great since there are limitations in the surrounding terrain."

"Do you think I can learn to use the sword overnight?" Alex was skeptical when he asked this question.

"You are used to using a spear, so you will naturally have to use a spear in tonight's battle, but what I am teaching you is a sword art, you should be grateful, even a noble cannot learn it."

Alex looked at his friend with skepticism in his eyes.

"An art you say! HMPH , I thought only evolving beings can use combat arts since there is a need to use spiritual energy, and as far as I know you and I are nothing more than primitive beings."

Alex paused for a moment and swung the sword he just received before continuing his words.

"Forget about using spiritual energy, primitive beings can't even see the so-called spiritual energy, I won't even ask how you know if you even know, but then again, how are you going to teach me an art?"

" What you said is partly true and is just common knowledge, what you don't know is that, an art of evolution is divided into two parts and the first part primitive beings can also use"

Rodion took his sword and executed a dash movement in just the blink of an eye he approached Alex's neck and then continued his explanation.

"The first part of a spiritual art or art of evolution, if you prefer, consists of a precisely predefined movement pattern that is subdivided into three parts: defense, mobility, and attack."

Rodion moved away a bit and then used another move

"Pay close attention"

Rodion stepped back, raised his toes, spun twice, and unleashed a sword attack that disarmed Alex in just two continuous movements.

" How did you do that?" Surprise could be seen in Alex's eyes, Rodion smiled slightly with sweat dripping down his face.

" The name of this art is called the Sea-Dividing Sword, of course, because I am a primitive being, I only used the first part, called the Sea-Dividing Sword technique."

Rodion used another move that allowed him to move even faster, but before he completed the movement sequence, he tripped and ended up falling to the ground.

"Even though it is a technique, it is still difficult to perform without spiritual energy. The muscles in my body almost ruptured."

"So how powerful would a technique be, or rather, how powerful would an art of evolution be?"

Alex asked before his eyes. In response, Rodion smiled and replied.

"I could destroy my entire house with just one swing of my sword."

"That strong?"

" Of course, your race is superior compared to us humans. If you learn what I am teaching you, you will naturally be able to display more power, but if we become evolving beings, other variables will be added to the comparison."

"Okay, I'll learn the art with you." Alex got into position following the movement patterns that Rodion was demonstrating.

"The Sea-Dividing Sword has a total of 20,380 moves in total; primitive beings can only use 16 of these moves."

" so many ?"

"Well, if they didn't take it away from you, it won't be difficult for you to learn, after all, you are a genius, it should take five years or less if you evolve and fight constantly."

It took Rodion about 7 years for the protagonist to learn and master the 20380 movements of the sea-splitting sword, this was mainly because the protagonist had three classes

The protagonist was a warrior, a magician, an alchemist and an arcanist , all these professions required a great accumulation of knowledge so he wasted a lot of time in libraries and laboratories.

The protagonist still had classes at the evolution academy, not to mention that he had to complete missions assigned by the academy, the royal family, and his own father, meaning that the protagonist had a tight schedule.

The two trained for the rest of the day, after all there wasn't much they could do other than sharpen their skills before tonight's battle, when the two were in their room Rodion spoke.

"Alex, I will write a book containing the sea-splitting sword, tomorrow I will be leaving for the capital of the kingdom and from there I will leave for the Ngola kingdom " Rodion's face looked quite serious as he said these words.

"Why are you leaving? And because of Irina? I know you were only stuck here because of your sister who was sick, but I didn't think you would leave so soon."

"Alex my good friend, I feel that there is something very wrong in this place, at the moment I can't say what it is, but it would be good if you also part as soon as possible"

Alex shook his head in denial.

"My whole life has been spent here, I don't see myself leaving this place any time soon."

" If one day you decide, just look for me. I will certainly be very different from what I am now, but believe me when I tell you that I will be the same."

"Okay, if I leave here, I'll look for you in the capital, but tell me one thing: what will you do in the capital?"

Rodion took a necklace and showed it to his friend, on it was a bird trapped in a cage

" I will join Irina's paternal family, from this family I will be able to begin my journey in this world"

"Does the queen's family live in the capital? How did I not know that?"

"I'm not sure, but I believe she didn't know anything about her paternal family either."

"If even she didn't know, how do you know that?"

" I can't tell you how I know this, and I don't want to deceive you either, so don't ask about my knowledge from now on, okay?"

"Okay, you can tell me whenever you want, but is this all connected to the fact that you preserve Irina's heart and blood?"

"In a way, yes, but these matters are just a contingent matter in case the path forward is not clear or if I am forced to make a decision quickly."

Before the conversation could continue they heard someone knocking on the door by the voice and content of the words they realized it was an employee of the coliseum.

"Gentlemen, your battle is about to begin, please address the designated bugles."

"Okay, we'll leave in a minute."

With that said, the two followed the man who came to get them.
