I sat quietly, watching Kael and Caelum engage in an argument that I wasn't willing to partake in. I couldn't even bring myself to look at Caelum, knowing fully well that he had initiated that kiss.
That he'd kissed Leilani.
…and that now, she was being forced to face the punishment for a crime that she didn't even commit.
She'd been labelled a whore… a seductress. A thief of her sister's happiness— and it was all Caelum's fault. All because he couldn't control his goddamn emotions at a time like this.
"I don't know," he gritted out, bringing his wineglass to his lips and I watched in irritation as he downed his fourth glass in the past five minutes. "…she was just there and I wanted to hurt her. I wanted to do something that'll crush her so badly for asking me—us— for a rejection…"
