Windsor's POV
My eyes went wide. In a small town like this, direct compliments were rare, especially from someone so young.
There was something pure about praise from children. No hidden motives, no calculated flattery. When a kid told you something, they meant every word of it.
A genuine smile spread across my face as I crouched down to her level, meeting those bright, curious eyes. Her yellow ribbons danced in the breeze as I reached out and gave one a playful tug.
"You're even prettier," I said softly.
Her cheeks turned the deepest shade of pink, and she let out the most adorable giggle before swaying back on her small feet.
"What are your names?" I asked, catching sight of movement behind her. Two boys had crept closer, using her as their shield while they studied me with wide eyes.
The little girl puffed out her chest with obvious pride. "I'm Coral," she declared.
I shifted my attention to the boys lurking behind her. "And what about you two?"
