Logan's POV
Where could she be?
The question carved itself deeper into my mind as time dragged on. I had torn through every corner of the campus, every shadow where she might have sought refuge, but found nothing except the hollow echo of my own desperation.
Pauline had vanished without a trace.
Standing in Zion and Windsor's apartment, I felt the weight of helplessness crushing down on my chest. My fists remained clenched at my sides, knuckles white with tension. The sound that filled the room made my heart clench - Windsor's broken sobs cutting through the silence like shattered glass.
She was curled against Zion's chest, tears flowing in endless streams down her pale cheeks. Her body trembled with each ragged breath, and she made no attempt to compose herself. The raw grief in her cries told me everything I needed to know.
If Windsor had any idea where Pauline might be hiding, she wouldn't be falling apart like this.
