Grandma unlocked her phone and said, "Give me your marriage certificate. Let's check the public record if it's still there," she said, quickly opening the website of the Marriage Record Bureau.
Alpha Maxwell showed the crumpled marriage certificate to Grandma.
After a few minutes of searching, Grandma smiled in relief. "Thank goodness, the record of your marriage to Naomi is still in the database," she said cheerfully.
"Awesome!" Alpha Maxwell beams happily. "Grams, can we go now to Naomi's house and present this marriage certificate to her father?" he asked.
"Sure, my boy. Give me a second. I will go to my room first. I need a proper change of attire," Grandma replied.
Alpha Maxwell responded, "OK. Take your time, Grams."
