Chapter 178 - Death Answers the Abyss

The battlefield didn't roar anymore.

It held its breath.

Because something changed.

Not in the armies.

Not in the destroyers.

Not even in the clash of powers.

It changed… in Rayon.

Nullivar narrowed his eyes.

"…What are you doing?"

Rayon didn't answer immediately.

His gaze drifted past them.

Through them.

Like he was looking at something far older than the war itself.

Then he exhaled slowly.

"…I remember now."

Darkness gathered—not outward, not violently—

But obediently.

Like it had been waiting for this moment.

"For too long…"

His voice lowered.

"I've been using power."

A pause.

Then his eyes turned completely abyssal.

"…Instead of authority."

The space behind him cracked open.

Not like a portal.

Not like a rift.

But like existence itself was peeling away.

And from it—

Something emerged.

A giant silhouette.

Towering.

Endless.

A Grim Reaper.

Its form wasn't fully visible—

Because the moment reality tried to define it…

It failed.

A massive scythe rested in its hands.

The blade didn't shine.

It didn't glow.

It absorbed.

Nullivar's instincts screamed.

"…MOVE!"

Demetrius and Mephisto reacted instantly.

But it was already too late.

Rayon spoke one name.

Quietly.

Calmly.

Absolutely.

"Death's Call."

The Reaper moved.

No wind.

No sound.

No buildup.

Just—

A swing.

Not fast.

Not slow.

Just unregistered.

The world didn't see it.

Time didn't record it.

Reality didn't acknowledge it.

Nullivar barely dodged.

The scythe passed where he stood—

And touched Demetrius and Mephisto.

Just grazed them.

That's all.

For a moment—

Nothing happened.

Demetrius blinked.

"…That's it?"

Mephisto frowned slightly.

"…What was that supposed to—"

They stopped.

Their voices cut off mid-sentence.

Their bodies didn't explode.

Didn't shatter.

Didn't burn.

They simply…

Faded.

Like something fundamental had been removed.

Not their life.

Not their body.

But their right to exist.

Gone.

Completely.

No afterlife.

No resurrection.

No return.

Silence.

Nullivar froze.

For the first time—

True tension crossed his face.

"…You…"

Rayon looked at him.

Calm.

Unmoved.

"…You felt it, didn't you?"

The moment Demetrius and Mephisto disappeared—

The entire destroyer army lost cohesion.

Fear spread.

Structure broke.

And then—

They started dying.

Nyk vs Michael, Gram, Arcon -

Nyk cracked his neck mid-fight.

Three elite destroyers surrounded him.

Michael moved first—blinding speed.

Gram followed—brute force incarnate.

Arcon warped space itself.

Nyk grinned.

"…Three of y'all?"

He lit another cigarette mid-fight.

"That's disrespectful."

Michael struck first—

A perfect hit—

But Nyk didn't move.

"…Didn't I tell y'all?"

He grabbed Michael's arm.

"Strength don't mean shit to me."

He activated Ruin.

Michael's power—

Vanished.

Like it never mattered.

Nyk punched straight through his chest.

Michael collapsed instantly.

Gram roared—

Charging with overwhelming force.

Nyk stepped forward.

"Your whole existence?"

He smiled.

"Trash."

One punch.

Gram's body shattered.

Arcon tried to escape—

Warping space—

But Nyk appeared in front of him anyway.

"…Running?"

He tapped Arcon's forehead.

"Denied."

Arcon's existence folded inward.

And disappeared.

Nyk exhaled smoke.

"…Light work."

Christine vs Sylax & Kane -

Sylax attacked with layered illusions.

Kane followed with destructive force.

Christine stood still.

"…You both."

Her voice was calm.

"Are loud."

She raised her hand.

Two fingers.

One for each.

"…Verdict."

Sylax froze first.

Kane followed.

"…Guilty."

Two invisible shots.

Perfect.

Absolute.

They dropped instantly.

Christine lowered her hand.

"…Next."

Nexus vs Xyla -

Xyla roared—

A monstrous destroyer form tearing through space.

Nexus stepped forward.

Her dragon aura flared violently.

Golden scales gleamed.

"…You picked the wrong planet."

She vanished—

Then reappeared above Xyla.

Her fist came down—

Infused with dragon god authority.

BOOM.

Xyla's body cracked—

Then shattered completely.

Nexus exhaled slowly.

"…Too easy."

Luminous —

Urus and Doom tried one last time.

Desperate.

Broken.

But still dangerous.

Luminous looked at them quietly.

"…You've had enough chances."

Her aura changed.

Completely.

Not just light.

Not just power.

But authority fully realized.

"Primordial Light — Full Authority."

The battlefield turned white.

Not blinding—

But absolute.

Doom tried to speak—

But his body dissolved mid-sentence.

Urus roared—

Charging forward—

But Luminous raised her hand.

"…Disappear."

And he did.

Completely.

No trace left behind.

Luminous exhaled softly.

"…Now that's done."

Final — Rayon vs Nullivar

Everything fell silent.

Only two remained.

Nullivar.

Rayon.

Nullivar's aura exploded outward.

"…You've crossed the line."

Rayon tilted his head slightly.

"…What line?"

Nullivar charged—

Unleashing everything.

Absolute End.

Total annihilation.

The culmination of everything he represented.

Rayon didn't dodge.

Didn't block.

Didn't counter.

He simply walked forward.

Through it.

Like it didn't exist.

Nullivar's eyes widened.

"…Impossible—"

Rayon appeared in front of him.

"…Your 'end'…"

He raised his hand.

"…Doesn't apply to me."

Darkness wrapped around his arm.

Condensed.

Focused.

Absolute.

"End of Abyss."

Rayon placed his hand on Nullivar's chest.

And squeezed.

No explosion.

No resistance.

No scream.

Nullivar…

Collapsed.

Erased.

Gone.

The battlefield was empty.

The armies gone.

The leaders gone.

The war—

Ended.

Rayon stood there silently.

Luminous beside him.

Nyk cracked his neck.

Christine lowered her hand.

Nexus folded her wings.

Erethon laughed softly.

"…Well that was fun."

Rayon looked out into the void.

Calm.

Certain.

Unshaken.

And somewhere—

Far beyond this battlefield—

Something was watching.

Because this wasn't the end.

Not yet.

It never was.
