Chapter 170 - When Light Walks Into the Abyss’ Home

Light is not merely illumination.

She is Primordial Light—

the first radiance to ever exist.

She carries many authorities.

She moves faster than light because light itself obeys her.

She sees all timelines layered atop one another like glass.

She hears all creation whispering at once—

except the Abyss and entities born from it.

Her radiance is poison to Monarchs and Destroyers alike.

Not because it destroys them instantly—

but because it denies their nature.

And above all else—

She is the only being who can truly delay Darkness.

Nullivar felt it the instant her authority fully bloomed.

Demetrius clenched his jaw.

Mephisto smiled thinly.

Doom's expression darkened.

Urus folded his arms.

"She knows," Demetrius said calmly.

Nullivar nodded. "Of course she does. Light has never been reckless."

Mephisto tilted his head. "So we don't rush."

"No," Nullivar agreed. "We obstruct."

With a single command, entire Destroyer Armies were deployed—legions meant to block Light's path before she could ever reach Averis… before she could ever reunite with Darkness.

"Urus. Doom," Nullivar said.

"You go."

In Space — Before Averis

Light arrived first.

She stopped in the void, golden hair flowing despite the absence of wind. The stars dimmed slightly around her, as if unwilling to outshine her presence.

She smiled.

"…How polite," she said lightly.

"All of you came to welcome me."

Reality twisted.

Urus and Doom emerged, their armies unfolding behind them like a moving wall of annihilation.

"It's been a long time, Light," Urus said.

She looked at him without warmth.

"Cut the nonsense," she replied.

"You're here to stop me. Let's get it over with. I have things to do."

Doom stepped forward, singularities already forming around his hands.

"Well then," he said, "it seems you're not willing to talk."

Urus raised his arm.

"Attack."

The armies surged.

Light sighed.

"Cowards," she said calmly.

"You'll need far more than this to kill me now."

She raised one finger.

A point of light formed.

It grew.

And grew.

And grew.

Until it became a massive, radiant sphere—pulling everything toward it. The charging armies were ripped from formation, dragged screaming into the light as the sphere cracked—

—and collapsed inward.

Silence.

Doom exhaled sharply. "So we really are doing this."

Light vanished.

She reappeared in front of Urus and kicked him—

—hard enough to send him crashing through a nearby moon.

Doom retaliated instantly, releasing collapsing singularities meant to erase her from existence.

She dodged them all effortlessly.

Urus returned, fury blazing, and the two Destroyers attacked together.

They clashed.

And it was not close.

Light moved between them like inevitability itself—strikes precise, radiant, undeniable. She shattered Doom's defenses and severed one of Urus' arms with a blade of primordial brilliance.

The wound did not regenerate.

Primordial Light damaged not flesh—but concept.

Urus screamed.

Light stepped back, breathing steady.

"…I can't kill you yet," she said softly.

"My authority is complete—but my power isn't."

She turned away.

"But this will slow you down."

And then—

She entered Averis.

Light paused the moment she crossed into the planet's domain.

"…Interesting," she murmured.

"This world has life," she said, sensing the flow.

"But it also has death."

A faint smile touched her lips.

"Balance," she concluded.

"I suppose that suits you."

Her gaze shifted west.

"…And you've found your vessel."

She dissolved into particles of light.

Isola Krein — The Mansion

Light reformed at the gates.

The gravity of Azelar pressed upon her instantly—ancient, overwhelming, undeniable.

She didn't resist.

Instead, she admired it.

The gates opened.

She walked in.

Rayon was holding Esdeath in his arms.

Lucifer was laughing as he tugged at Azelar's beard.

Nyk and Christine were talking animatedly.

Nexus and Isis were quietly playing Go.

Everyone looked at her.

Even the twins.

Then—

Life resumed.

Casual. Natural.

Rayon stood and smiled.

"It seems you made it, Light," he said.

"After some hassle. Nothing you couldn't handle."

She smiled back.

"Darkness," she said softly.

"It's been ages."

Her eyes fell to Esdeath.

"…Oh?"

She stiffened.

"A demi-god?" she asked quietly.

"And… your child?"

"Yes," Rayon replied calmly. "Twins."

For a moment—

Light faltered.

Pain flickered across her face before she could hide it.

Rayon sighed.

"Come on, Luminous," he said gently.

"We talked about this five thousand years ago."

She looked away.

"We were lovers," he continued, "in another life. But we both knew someday we'd have our own families."

He glanced around the room.

"These days… they're more beautiful than anything we had back then. You understand that."

She whispered, "I knew."

Then softly, "I just didn't want to admit it."

She looked at Esdeath again.

"…May I hold her?"

Rayon smiled. "Sure."

He turned slightly.

"Everyone—this is Luminous," he said.

"Or you can call her Light."

Greetings followed naturally.

Light sat beside Nexus and gently returned Esdeath to her arms.

"She's a wonderful child," Light said sincerely.

Nexus smiled. "Thank you."

Azelar spoke then.

"You'll get used to it, Luminous," he said calmly.

"I know how you feel."

Rayon met his eyes and nodded.

"When something defines you for too long," Azelar continued,

"it becomes you. And you fear change because you never had it."

He smiled gently.

"But that same thought is what holds you back, child."

Light bowed her head slightly.

"…Thank you, Azelar."

Outside, the sky shimmered.

Inside—

Light sat among the Abyss' family.

And for the first time in millennia—

She did not feel alone.
