Chapter 60 - Words getting into the wrong mouth

Away from the Crown Prince's room, far from where the royal family stays, in a small room that was barely enough for a narrow bed and a wooden table in the servants' quarters. Dydra rested her elbow on the sill of a window, her cheek pressed gently against her palm as she gazed outside.

Night had settled quietly over the world, wrapping the rooftops and trees in a deep blue blanket. The sky looked endless—scattered with pale stars that shimmered like tiny lanterns hung far, far away. A thin breeze slipped through the open window, cool enough to lift a few strands of her hair and brush them across her forehead. Her eyes unconsciously closed, with many thoughts racing through her head. She couldn't sleep. The few days she had spent in the castle had been nothing but chaos. If she was told a week ago, that she was going to be kicked out of the house, and end up in the royal castle, she would have scolded the person harshly for such impossible thoughts.
