Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: Zeraora

Chapter 94: Zeraora

A few days later, Ryan and his companions stopped at the Pokémon Center in a ruined area. After Nurse Joy's introduction, they learned about the ruins.

Originally known as the Ancient Tree Civilization, the area had become deserted and rocky due to indiscriminate logging. It was said to be a civilization that worshipped Remoraid and Octillery.

It was also here that Ryan obtained the wish tag given to him by the League. The tag was green and made of a mystical paper-like material. He told Ruby and Rosa to wait while he tried using the tag and then return.

Although Ruby and Rosa were curious about why Ryan wanted the tag for good luck, out of respect for his privacy, they didn't ask too many questions and told him to return quickly after trying it.

Ryan left all his Pokémon with Nurse Joy for recovery, taking only Togepi with him. Arriving at a cliff face far from the Pokémon Center, Ryan stroked Togepi's head and said, "I hope you can share some of your good luck with me."

He then pulled a marker from his backpack and carefully wrote on the wish tag: "I hope my luck will improve in the future!" With the last stroke, the wish tag flew into the air, then dissipated into tiny specks of starlight. A strange power filled Ryan's body. He took a deep breath and said, "System, Premium Ten-Pull. Keep going!"

"Ding, Ten-Pull Started," the system announced.

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for obtaining: one Ice Stone, two Dawn Stones, one Dusk Stone, one Perfect IV Mimikyu, one Perfect IV Steelix, one Perfect IV Crobat, one Perfect IV Musharna, and 20 Ultra Balls."

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for obtaining: one Treasure-hunting Rotom, one Fossilized Drake."

"Ding. Congratulations to the host for obtaining:..."

"Ding. Congratulations."

"Ding," the system continued, one draw per second, sixty times a minute, as six hundred items appeared before Ryan and in his bag. A quick count revealed 267 perfect IV Pokémon and 93 legendary-tier Pokémon. Poké Balls came in groups of 10, and there were 30 sets. A complete collection of Evolution Stones was also available, likely more than they could ever use—120 in total, of every type.

The rest were miscellaneous items, mostly Pokémon gear and tools, even a Super Rod.

But finally, Ryan practically jumped for joy when he found an ordinary-looking Poké Ball.

A Thunder Pokémon—Zeraora!

Zeraora was also a mythical Pokémon, but it seemed to be from the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon era before Ryan's dimensional travel. He wasn't entirely sure of its details, so he checked the system's information.

Pokémon: Zeraora Level: 1 Gender: Genderless Height: 1.5m Weight: 44.5kg Ability: Volt Absorb Moves: Scratch, Thunder Shock

Ryan's face turned pale and he roared: "System! Just give me this?! Where's the legendary power you promised?! Where's the overwhelming strength?!"

"Ding. Zeraora resembles a bipedal cat. It can emit large amounts of electric current from its paw pads, thereby creating a strong magnetic field. The power of this magnetic field allows it to float in the air and move at high speeds. It is said that its maximum movement speed rivals the speed of lightning itself. Unlike ordinary Electric-type Pokémon, it doesn't have organs in its body that generate electricity. However, it can absorb electrical energy from the outside world and store it in its body for use. When using electrical energy with great power, the fur on its body stands on end."

"I'm not asking for a Pokédex entry!" Ryan roared, "Where's the level?! Where's the legendary power?! You're just giving me a starting point like with Mewtwo!"

"Ding. Mythical Pokémon must be raised by the host personally. A mythical Pokémon given by the system that has already mastered its true nature would be completely beyond the host's control and could easily overwhelm the host. Furthermore, this is the result of the host forcibly interfering with the system's gacha using external power. Obtaining a mythical Pokémon is already quite remarkable," the system explained.

Ryan was on the verge of tears. Ten consecutive draws cost 1,000 points, and 60 draws would have cost 60,000 points. It would be a lie to say he wasn't heartbroken, but he felt like he'd been scammed by the system. But from a rational perspective, Ryan had made a huge profit by spending 60,000 points. He released Zeraora and couldn't help but exclaim: What a magnificent Pokémon! Ryan's main team lacked an Electric-type specialist, and Zeraora's arrival filled that gap perfectly.

"Hello there, little one," Ryan said, stroking Zeraora's head.

The Pokémon provided by the system were indeed very affectionate. Zeraora narrowed its eyes, enjoying Ryan's touch, truly cat-like in nature.

Ryan destroyed the ordinary Poké Ball and replaced it with an Ultra Ball for Zeraora, who easily entered the premium tier.

Then, looking at the vast pile of Poké Balls, Ryan began to select. There were quite a few perfect IV Pokémon he liked, but he didn't intend to take them all. After all, his main team was gradually maturing, and he also had to consider team balance. He wouldn't consider any overlapping Pokémon unless they had truly greater potential than his current ones.

"A shiny, perfect IV Metagross—this one's a must." Ryan picked it out first. After all, Steven's Metagross had truly impressed him, and subconsciously, he'd wanted one. This time, he was lucky enough to draw one, so of course Ryan wouldn't let it go. "It's a shame there aren't any perfect IV Riolu or Lucario. There are a few decent Pokémon, but they're not very valuable to train. This Rotom and Charmeleon are okay, though. I'll take them," Ryan said as he made his selections.

After making his choices, the large batch of Poké Balls was instantly teleported back to Professor Oak's lab. Looking at the empty ground, Ryan couldn't help but marvel at the convenience of the PC storage system, otherwise he would be exhausted teleporting these Poké Balls one by one.

Ryan had four new team members: a shiny Metagross, a Rotom, a Charmeleon, and of course, Zeraora.

When Ryan returned to the Pokémon Center, Ruby and Rosa didn't ask any questions, simply saying that his Pokémon had recovered and were ready to go.

Ryan nodded and asked Nurse Joy to send a large storage box back to Pallet Town. He then stored Metagross and the others in the PC system, leaving them to be managed by the storage network. He also temporarily stored Gyarados and added Zeraora to his active party.
