Kim entered the palace searching for Elena. He did not speak, he did not knock; he simply stormed in as if time itself were hunting him. When he finally found her, she was lying on the bed.
Startled by his sudden appearance, she stood up immediately, scanning him with her eyes as if searching for a hidden wound. Kim approached and sat beside her on the bed, then finally spoke: "I must leave."
Her eyes widened in confusion. "Now? Is it because my sister is cruel?"
His face was etched with misery. He drew close and embraced her tightly. "I have never forgotten my wife… no matter what happens."
She clung to him, weeping. "At least… tell me why."
He pulled back slightly, raising his hand toward his eye. "This eye sees the future. It has been activated… and your future with me is grim."
She stood up in anger. "Do not mock me!"
Suddenly, Kim smiled, then laughed for no apparent reason. He leaned in, kissed her, and then pulled her into another embrace. "I can read what lies within people. And you… you love me sincerely. I do not want to lose someone I love ever again."
He placed his hand over her lips. "Elena… no matter how long it takes, will you wait for me?"
Her eyes betrayed her, and tears began to fall. "Is there truly no solution other than your departure?"
He smiled softly. "Our time was short, but I loved this place… and I loved this world. I do not want to leave it in chaos."
He reached out his hand. "My flower, no matter how fierce the storm becomes… I will return. That is a promise."
She extended her trembling hand. "Yes… a promise."
He etched a mark upon her hand. "As long as this mark remains… I am alive."
