Chapter 139 - Silence precedes the explosion

Silence between them was the optimal solution to lessen the burdens piling up on Kim.

A heavy silence—one where nothing is said, yet everything is spoken.

Amon told Kim that he would train to control his body and the allowed flow of energy.

He wanted Kim to calm down a little; he thought that leaving him alone might ease what was raging inside him…

but the look on Kim's face was far from good.

His eyes were empty of life, like a hollow vessel—no emotions, no hope.

Amon stepped closer, trying to calm him, trying to make him stop viewing everything with such brutal severity.

He spoke in a low voice, sincere and unmasked:

"Listen, Kim… awareness may show you the truth of everything,

but it robs you of living in peace.

There is no evolution in your way of thinking, and what stands between you and Elena is none of my concern.

But what I can tell you is this:

don't put distance between you and her."

He paused briefly, then continued, his words harsh yet honest:

"My words may be cruel, but the truth is sometimes better than illusion.

I think she is better than your lover… and better than mine as well.

Desires live within people, but not everyone is greedy.

So… behind the mask, there is sincerity—and even without it, sincerity still exists."

Kim did not let him finish.

He suddenly lunged forward and struck him with force, pushing him away.

Kim said in a killing cold tone:

"Don't you have a body now? Then… leave."

Amon stared at him, shocked by what he heard.

All those years as enemies… then the situation changed, yet the words were harsher than any blow.

And yet, Amon did not grieve over Kim's words.

He is a fool, yes… but he understands.

Someone like Kim—

someone who was betrayed, bullied, and left alone—

will remain cautious for his entire life.

The truth Amon did not want to accept…

was that Kim had never considered him a friend.

Kim confirmed it himself:

"You were nothing but a tool."

The words were cruel, but Kim did not care and continued:

"Humans, demons, angels, spirits…

all beings are tools—used, and using others.

But tell me, Amon…

you are the worst tool I have ever used in my life."
