"What?!" All three people in the study shot to their feet. Files stacked high on the desk tumbled to the floor. Nobody cared—they bolted for the door.
Draco cursed the Anti-Apparition wards for the first time in his life.
The door was locked. Harry didn't care. Before reaching it, his wand fired.
The study door and half the wall silently melted away, revealing the intact corridor. Normally, Gemini would tease Harry about his spell control. Not now.
The three raced upstairs to the residential wing. Draco sprinted to the mistress's room without looking back. Harry charged toward the guest room. Gemini froze at the stairway. Where should she go?!
After pacing the corridor twice, Gemini plopped down on the stairs. She'd wait right here. Her divination talent whispered this wasn't bad news. Just wait.
Within ten minutes, Harry's loud laughter echoed through the corridor, along with—
Harry being chased out by a swarm of bat-bogeys.
"Ginny! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! Be careful of the baby! Please stop!" Harry shouted while running.
Draco carefully helped Astoria out, standing at the doorway. They watched Harry flee and exchanged glances.
"What did he do?" Gemini ran over, supporting Ginny's arm.
Ginny struggled embarrassedly but couldn't break free, so she gave up. "When I opened my eyes, his face was right there, grinning so wide it was twisted. Startled me."
Gemini watched Harry still being chased. Getting startled shouldn't warrant this.
"He told me the pregnancy news and wanted to toss me in the air," Ginny said flatly.
"He deserved it!" Gemini declared, turning away from the scratched and clawed Harry.
Supporting Ginny, she followed Draco and Astoria, ignoring Harry as they headed to the sitting room.
"So you're both pregnant at the same time?" Gemini counted on her fingers.
Astoria blushed. "We have to thank you, Gemini."
"Thank me? Why? I didn't..." Gemini almost blurted something inappropriate, quickly shutting her mouth.
Nobody noticed. Astoria said gratefully, "If you hadn't invited Elder Sun from China to break my family's curse, Draco wouldn't have let me have children."
Draco gripped her hand tightly. "You know, dear, that completely changed things."
"Then what? What else did Elder Sun do?" Gemini asked, watching the clingy couple and suddenly wanting to burp.
Astoria and Ginny exchanged glances. "He used traditional Chinese methods to help us recuperate. I've always been weak from the bloodline curse. Ginny was hurt fundamentally by past events. We couldn't have children."
Ginny continued, "The medicine was awful—reminded me of Snape's potions—but it worked. We got treatment together, so our dates are close."
"I see! In the end, it's all thanks to me!" Gemini puffed out her chest. Her nose practically reached the sky.
"So Gemini, do you prefer boys or girls?" Draco suddenly asked.
Gemini looked over warily. "What are you planning? I'm not babysitting! Raise your own kids!"
Draco snorted. "What are you dreaming about? Malfoy children need you to babysit? I'd be afraid you'd tear the family apart."
Gemini flew into a rage. "What did you say?!"
The two began chasing and fighting around the sitting room. Draco completely abandoned his family head demeanor, his triumphant smile reminding Astoria of that little Slytherin prince from years ago.
Harry finally escaped the bat-bogeys, grimacing at his scratches. He entered the sitting room but before he could speak, got knocked down by the fighting Draco and Gemini.
Harry howled in pain. "What are you doing!"
Gemini jumped up instantly, dusted herself off, quickly returned to Ginny's side, and sat obediently, pretending it wasn't her.
Draco stood and extended his hand to Harry. "Get up. We're just happy."
Harry stared somewhat dazedly at the offered hand, vaguely remembering a similar scene long ago. He'd refused then.
Draco watched the dazed Harry, eyebrow raised high. "Scarhead?! How long are you making me hold this pose?!"
Harry snapped back, grudgingly taking Draco's hand and standing. "Malfoy, you're about to be a father. Can't you be more mature?"
Draco looked at Harry incredulously. Was he sure he had the face to say that?
Gemini whispered to the two pregnant women, "Why are they still so childish when they're about to be fathers?"
Ginny and Astoria laughed, accompanied by Draco and Harry's bickering. Malfoy Manor filled with domestic warmth.
The next day, Harry borrowed the Malfoy carriage and carefully took Ginny back to Potter cottage.
Gemini was dumped back at Grimmauld Place. The estate business she was supposed to learn was bundled and dumped on her too. They claimed she was smart enough to learn alone.
Fortunately, they gave Gemini reliable agents, so she didn't have to practice with her own properties.
Even so, Gemini felt bitter, sighing in the Grimmauld Place study to Sirius in broken Chinese: "Only hear new people laugh, don't see old people cry. New generation replaces old."
While guiding Gemini through documents, Sirius stroked his chin. "That phrase doesn't fit here."
Gemini blinked, pulling out Sun Xiaoxiao's Chinese guide and flipping pages. "Close enough—same meaning!"
After reading documents for ages, Gemini found this harder than exams. Finally finishing and handing everything to agents, she collapsed at home, not wanting to move.
The Parkers had finished sightseeing and moved to 13 Grimmauld Place. The old house wasn't suitable for them, so Gemini bought number 13 next door.
Steve ultimately decided to return to America to help Fury.
The day after the battle, Fury had an open talk with Gemini at the shop. She'd said everything depended on Steve's wishes.
After touring Britain, Steve felt HYDRA was his responsibility. He couldn't accept HYDRA existing. While Gemini was stuck in Britain, he returned alone.
August arrived. On Peter's birthday, he received his Hogwarts letter at 13 Grimmauld Place. Too excited to write back, he went straight to knock on the Black family door.
Gemini guided Peter in writing his reply, declining the professor's guidance, and personally took the Parkers back to Diagon Alley—this time for Peter's school shopping.
She helped Peter choose a wand, order uniforms, buy a pet and textbooks. Gemini got her fill of playing guide professor.
The Parkers paid for everything themselves. Half their shop wages were in dollars, the other half in Galleons for Peter's schooling. Over the years they'd saved plenty—reportedly much more than when Ron started school.
Peter also got his yearly allowance from Ben—50 Galleons. According to Gemini, he could only go out during Christmas holidays. Other times he could at most order by mail. School provided room and board—not much to spend on.
Peter was thrilled to receive spending money he could control freely. Though he'd never lacked anything, this was his first time having money to spend by his own wishes.
Gemini and the Parkers stayed in Britain until September's start. Gemini personally put Peter on the Hogwarts Express and gave him a Portkey home, so he could return to America during Christmas without them traveling to pick him up.
Peter obediently pocketed the Portkey. The train whistle sounded. Peter hurriedly said goodbye to Gemini and boarded with his trunk and owl Iron Man.
Watching the train disappear, Gemini suddenly felt that "my child has grown up" sensation, shuddered, and threw the illusion out. What was she thinking?! That wasn't her kid!
When they came to see Peter off, they'd brought luggage. After sending Peter away, the three were returning to America. The shop had been closed for months. Steve had been back for a while. Though they'd stayed in contact, Gemini worried her straightforward knight might be tricked by that bald guy.
The moment the shop door opened, Steve got the message and returned that day.
Gemini chatted with Steve to confirm his situation. Reportedly, almost 2/3 of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were HYDRA. Gemini clicked her tongue—what kind of S.H.I.E.L.D. was this? Snake-H.I.E.L.D.?!
Fury didn't dare act rashly. If even one escaped, it would cause problems. They were still secretly investigating HYDRA's real bases, including training facilities and headquarters.
Fury had given Steve an external consultant identity, temporarily only taking missions from Fury. Missions were paid daily. Steve kindly gave a discount—$100,000 per day. He'd saved quite a bit over two months.
Finally, Steve reported he'd given Fury access to Tony's basement safe house. After all, that baldy had a good heart—his life was worth preserving.
Gemini had no objections, just immediately wrote a bill for Steve to take to Fury. Steve shuddered at the numbers—good thing this was his boss, not someone else's.
Never mind Fury's blurted "fuck" when he saw that bill—let's talk about Tony's situation.
America had been complete chaos lately—wizard supporters, wizard opponents, congressional vote-seekers, nuclear missile issues, plus official protests from Britain and China.
Almost daily, protest marches passed by Gemini's shop. She watched with great interest—rare entertainment outside studying.
Reportedly, whether wizard or No-Maj newspapers now published twice daily, with new stories breaking constantly. Incredibly lively.
Ordinary citizens' curiosity and fear about wizards remained primary. After experiencing Tony's post-war recovery team performances, most people thought wizard existence was necessary.
Especially damaged street shops—owners tearfully watched their restored storefronts, even teacups made whole. They called it miraculous, earning solid middle-class favor.
At Tony's suggestion, MACUSA organized patrol squads, monitoring the city 24/7 and rescuing many people, refreshing public goodwill again.
MACUSA's half-blood wizard who'd infiltrated regular Congress had brought magical statehood to national Congress. Reportedly the President was deliberating. The chosen location was unrelated to all sides—just wasteland, not very large. Giving them a designated area had benefits.
The real turning point came from the Vice President's strong support. Tony discovered his most beloved daughter had been cured by magical means.
When the Vice President's daughter ran happily through the garden, the Vice President had already sided with MACUSA.
