Speaking thus, Tony stepped forward to pat "George's" shoulder, only to discover his hand passing through empty air. This was a phantom?
George and Fred simultaneously burst into uproarious laughter. Tony observed carefully and realized George had cast some spell to make himself appear as ethereal as a holographic projection, even conjuring a false ear, while Fred, being a semi-artificial intelligence, could alter his appearance with effortless ease.
"Your synchronization is absolutely incredible!" Tony couldn't suppress his amazement. "I genuinely believed their memories had idealized you two!"
George ceased laughing and asked with obvious anticipation, "Can you create another copy of this? I'd like to bring one home—after all, the family misses Fred tremendously."
Tony slapped his forehead emphatically. "My God, I completely forgot! Wait here!"
He rushed upstairs frantically, rummaged through packages, collected them, and hurried back down.
"Molly asked me to deliver these for you—pies and sweaters, claims it's a Weasley tradition!" Tony announced while extracting items. "Incredible! Only two days and even I received one!"
Tony held up a red sweater with a golden letter 'T' knitted across it, comparing it against himself. George received his sweater bearing the letter 'J' and felt deeply moved. Gemini's sweater differed from the boys'—it was an emerald green sweater dress adorned with various lace patterns, and to distinguish it from George's, the chest letter was 'B'. Gemini immediately envisioned matching outfits in her mind—now she merely awaited winter!
After distributing everything, Tony, under George and Gemini's watchful observation, used laboratory materials to construct a new device on the spot. Since this was intended for home use, he didn't create it in watch form but instead fashioned a thirty-centimeter square box. Because the Burrow wasn't well-suited for electrical wiring, Tony specifically installed an Arc Reactor inside—with merely Fred's power consumption, it would sustain the Weasley family until eternity.
After completion, Tony regarded Fred uncertainly. "Can you create a backup of yourself? If not, I'll have JARVIS instruct you?"
Fred rolled his eyes dramatically. "Of course I can accomplish that—my core is artificial intelligence after all!"
Tony visibly relaxed, which prompted Fred to gesture dramatically beside him in annoyance.
George donned the watch and inquired, "Will he only manifest in specific locations? Must I install holographic projection cameras everywhere I might travel?"
Tony responded quickly, "Unnecessary. When you're absent, Fred can communicate through this watch, and the watch can also project, though it'll be smaller—he can only stand on the watch surface."
George regarded Fred with a mischievous grin. The twins, being so synchronized, meant Fred instantly comprehended George's plotting.
But he possessed no recourse now—he could only shrug helplessly.
George collected his items, and Tony provided him with an entire box of button cameras. Despite the midnight hour, George rushed to queue at the International Travel Department, determined to return to the Burrow with maximum speed and bring Fred home.
Witnessing everything concluded, Gemini yawned and bid Tony farewell, deciding to return to her shop for proper rest.
After dismissing everyone, Tony suddenly felt energized and completely unable to sleep.
Scanning his laboratory, Tony wondered whether he could improve Magic Mark 1 or learn new magic when a cardboard box on the table captured his attention.
"JARVIS? What is this? When was it placed here?" Tony asked directly.
"Sir, this was delivered by S.H.I.E.L.D., described as a gift from your father," JARVIS answered matter-of-factly. "Mrs. Maria reminded you yesterday to remember examining it. You agreed."
As he spoke, JARVIS controlled the screen beside Tony, immediately displaying surveillance footage of Tony's dismissive response to Maria.
Tony's expression darkened instantly. "JARVIS, I'm donating you to a university! Is this how you critique your owner?!"
JARVIS silently deactivated the surveillance video onscreen, determined to feign death and remain completely silent.
Tony opened the cardboard box and examined the vintage videotapes inside. Each tape bore a year label, from his birth year until his parents' death year. The dates on each tape clustered around his birthday, within a day or two.
Selecting the earliest tape, Tony retrieved the matching player from storage, extinguished all laboratory lights, positioned a reclining chair, and began watching silently.
Meanwhile, George waited anxiously until the Travel Department opened, paid his fee, and became the first to use the Floo Network to the British Ministry of Magic. It happened to be closing time there, so George directly summoned his family members at the Ministry—Arthur, Percy, Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Ginny—then hurriedly notified all Weasleys not at the Ministry to abandon everything and return to the Burrow.
The group remained puzzled, none considering Fred. According to wizarding tradition, a moving, talking portrait containing a wizard's memories required at least several months of creation. It hadn't even been three days since Tony's departure! The Weasley family only assumed George had encountered difficulties and immediately abandoned everything to return to the Burrow—even Charlie, raising dragons in Romania, left his beloved fire dragons and rushed home anxiously.
After all, in the Weasley family's perspective, George, having lost Fred, was the most concerning member. Yet since Fred's absence, he'd been the most worry-free, which intensified their concern.
When everyone assembled, the small Burrow suddenly overflowed with so many people it could barely support the load. Molly immediately arranged for all adult children to cast spells on the Burrow, temporarily expanding the living room to provide these grown children somewhere to stand.
George wasn't among them—he was following Fred's instructions, installing button cameras floor by floor, room by room. To allow Fred to appear freely, George even applied Permanent Sticking Charms to the cameras' backs, ensuring they wouldn't fall randomly.
After installing everything upstairs, George whispered with Fred momentarily, then Fred showed George where to install cameras in the first-floor living room before firmly retreating into the watch, awaiting George's summons.
"George? What are you doing? Everyone's here!" Molly's voice echoed from the stairway.
George responded quickly, "Coming! Mum!"
Everyone regarded George with obvious concern, but George lacked time to greet everyone. He simply continued jumping around the living room until he finally installed the last camera. George released a relieved breath and settled comfortably on the sofa where he used to rest.
