Chapter 4 - Plannings for the future

Naruto woke up the next morning feeling remarkably refreshed, arguably the best sleep he had ever experienced in his life. Having his own home certainly contributed to this sense of security. After a cosy night, he headed for a bath. Dressed in Minato's blue genin outfit, he looked at himself in the mirror. Indeed, he thought, he resembled Minato closely as he compared his reflection to the portrait of Minato and Kushina from when they were his age.

Now, the first thing Naruto needed was food. He couldn't starve all day just to enjoy nutritious ramen once; he needed a regular supply of nourishment to grow stronger. He had to figure something out.

As for training, Naruto could begin practising shuriken and kunai throwing. He could study from Minato's book, as the jutsu theories and curriculum had remained the same since the Second Hokage's time—Tobirama himself had established them. The only changes were in the general knowledge, which Naruto knew even more than most of the Jounin, due to his transmigration.

His biggest challenge was Chakra Control, which would continue to be an issue in the future due to Kurama's massive chakra reserves, along with his own substantial Uzumaki chakra. As a malnourished, untrained genin, Naruto already had higher chakra reserves than even Kakashi. Still, he could hardly utilise them except for the Kage Bunshin Jutsu, due to his poor chakra control.

He knew he needed to practice chakra control himself. Next, he needed to focus on taijutsu. Finding Guy wouldn't be a problem; he would be eager to train Naruto, given his enthusiasm. Naruto's taijutsu had always been a struggle. Imagine thousands of clones employing Lee's taijutsu strength instead of randomly throwing punches and getting dispelled!

Additionally, Naruto had to find a way to befriend Kurama. With Kurama's support, he could resolve many of his problems. He also needed to locate his godfather earlier than in the anime, allowing him to begin training and mastering Kurama's power, summoning jutsu and Rasengan sooner.

With a deep sigh, Naruto acknowledged the weight of these challenges for a child his age. Any other five-year-old would surely feel overwhelmed. Presently, he knew that the Anbu would have reported his location to Danzo, and the elder council would be storming into the Hokage's office for a heated discussion. Jiji would have seen Naruto's whereabouts on his mysterious globe. "I hope he didn't see me taking a bath," Naruto thought. "That old man is a bit of a pervert. It wouldn't be surprising if he used his globe to spy on women's bathhouses, even on Tsunade. Thank goodness he isn't interested in children, unlike Orochimaru."

Deciding he should head to see the Hokage to collect his monthly allowance, Naruto made his way out of the house, glancing back at his parents' portrait one last time.
