Chapter 109 - Meet and Greet Event

"Zenin-senpai, what are you doing here?"

The two of them turned around. Megumi naturally ignored the burly man standing next to Mai.

"Fushiguro, don't call me that. It's too easy to mix me up with Maki. Just call me Mai, or Auntie is fine too."

The girl rested a fingertip against her smooth lips and teased her nephew, who was only a year younger than her yet one whole generation below her.

"So you really are related to Maki-senpai… huh? Wait!"

Just by looking at her face, Nobara had already guessed the connection.

She looked like a short-haired, more seductive version of Maki.

But then Mai's last word hit her.

Auntie?!

That meant Maki was also Megumi's aunt.

But Megumi's last name was Fushiguro. What kind of family mess was this?

Nobara's small head was filled with very big confusion.

"This just got even harder to explain…"

A vein twitched on Megumi's forehead.

The relationship between the Zenin clan and the Fushiguro family was something he didn't fully understand either. He only knew that his dad and uncle had fought them before.

"Let me introduce myself first. I'm Aoi Todo, a third-year from Kyoto Jujutsu High. Now tell me, what kind of girls do you like?"

Todo asked his usual question and immediately started taking off his shirt.

He had to know at least one of the Fushiguro family member's tastes in this area.

"Todo, stop messing around here."

Before Todo could finish undressing, Mukuro's voice came from behind him. At the same time, a hand rested on his shoulder.

The tone carried mild helplessness, like an adult scolding a kid who stole candy.

"Hello. I'm Megumi's uncle. Sorry for the trouble caused by my nephew and this troublesome student."

Mukuro then looked at Nobara with a slightly apologetic expression.

"No, not at all."

The sudden polite greeting caught her off guard.

"Cousin? Why are you here too?!"

The one who was being questioned not long ago became the one asking.

Mai clasped her hands behind her back. Her face turned red, completely different from how she spoke to Megumi earlier.

She had only come to see her good-for-nothing sister and tease Megumi a bit. She never expected to run into Mukuro.

To her, he was like unreachable sunlight, shining down from high clouds into her own dark world.

That was why, no matter how sharp-tongued or bad-tempered she usually was, the moment she stood in front of him, she instantly turned into a sweet and well-behaved girl.

"I came here a few days ago to take care of something. Just happened that some rich fool paid me a lot to stay here and relax for a while."

Mukuro chuckled. He then gently ran his hand over the girl's head like petting a cat. She tilted her head up happily.

This really felt better than petting that sea-urchin-haired nephew.

"Strange… why do I suddenly feel irritated…"

Behind them, Megumi felt a vague sense of malice and frowned as he scanned his surroundings.

"Cousin, if that blindfold guy hears you say that, he'll definitely make a huge scene."

Right then, Maki arrived with a long blade resting on her shoulder, followed by Inumaki and Panda.

She ignored her twin sister standing right in front of her and spoke directly to Mukuro.

The smile on Mai's face vanished.

"So the good-for-nothing finally showed up?"

After a brief pause, seeing that bold grin on Maki's face, she couldn't help but mock her.

"Coming from you, isn't that rich? You can only coat weapons with cursed energy. You never even awakened a technique," Maki fired back.

The two sisters, who once talked about everything, now faced each other like rivals, each annoyed just by the other's presence.

And all of this came from just one argument.

"That's enough, you two."

With a helpless sigh, the former second-biggest failure of the Zenin clan stepped in to stop things from escalating further.

"Crap! Takada's meet and greet event. I still need to go there!"

Just as silence fell, Todo, who had reluctantly put his shirt back on, suddenly shouted after checking his phone.

One of the main reasons he came along this time was to shake hands with his idol.

He had been so focused on testing Megumi that he almost forgot the main purpose.

"Oh right. Fushiguro-sensei, want to come take a look together? I still have one extra ticket!"

Thinking of Takada's beauty, a faint blush like a lovestruck girl's appeared on Todo's rough face.

Then his fantasy cut off. He pulled out two tickets and waved them in front of Mukuro.

This might be the perfect chance to find out what kind of woman he liked.

He hadn't forgotten that his mentor once regretted never being able to properly study this man's body.

"I don't mind walking around with you. Standing here doing nothing is boring anyway."

For once, Mukuro agreed.

The answer shocked everyone present, especially Megumi and the Zenin sisters.

For all these years, none of them had ever heard of him showing interest in any woman.

"Cousin, don't let this guy corrupt you—"

"Then let's go! Spreading Takada's charm is the duty of fans and her future husband!"

Mai tried to say more but Todo's loud declaration cut her off.

He looked proud and saw nothing wrong with his words.

"Megumi, stay here. Call me if anything happens."

With Todo's high spirits leading the way, the three of them left Tokyo Jujutsu High.

"Fushiguro… your family really comes in all kinds, huh…"

After they were gone, Nobara finally spoke.

Maki was nice, and that uncle seemed reliable. But that younger sister was really annoying.

"Uh…"

Megumi didn't know how to respond.

* * *

Half an hour later.

Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, inside the mall hosting popular idol Takada's meet and greet event.

The place was packed.

"So gross. All these people lining up just to shake hands with a girl…"

Standing alone on an upper floor, Mai complained while looking down at the dense crowd.

What she didn't know was.

'There's a hot girl up there looking at us like trash!'

Down below, many men actually enjoyed that kind of gaze.

"Fushiguro-sensei, once you see Takada-chan in person, you'll definitely fall for her!"

Still outside the main venue and not even in line yet, Todo stared at the idol poster with longing and confidently spoke to Mukuro.

"You trash, you actually came to a place like this. Pretty lucky you managed to get Takada's ticket!"

Suddenly, a noisy commotion broke out near the entrance behind them, making both of them turn around.

Towering above the crowd, they immediately spotted the source of the noise.

It was a group of middle school students in uniforms.

At the center was a timid-looking boy with long bangs covering his right eye, surrounded by them on all sides.
