Chapter 5 - A Pretty Princess

Once again, we were at the guild. Yesterday, I had asked the guild recruiter to set up a meeting with Tianor Iris. We wanted him in our party.

The meeting was set for midday, but Kyros and I had arrived earlier in the morning; I don't think he ever slept, and I was too excited to meet this new healer. Knowing the power he possessed, any quest would be achievable.

Even Amethyst arrived on time. She showed up with countless scrolls and spellbooks, no doubt ready to interrogate Tianor about his druidic magic.

Earlier, I had asked the guild recruiter how an adventure with this much power didn't cause more commotion in the guild. She said that he was brand-new. He had just joined the Adventurers Guild only a few days ago, and we were the first party to see his application.

She gave me a wink and told me that a tank as strong as me deserved a healer to match.

There was still an hour before Tianor was supposed to arrive. Kyros waited in the shadows and rolled a thin glass vial of bright red liquid around his fingers, while Amethyst and I talked of magic.

"I have never seen a human that could use druidic magics before!"

"Really? Well, what's so special about it anyway? Is it stronger than your crystal magic?" I teased her, knowing how she would respond.

"Of course not! No one's stronger than me," She bragged, "But he could be special." She paused for a second, her face growing serious.

"Druids are rare, even for elves. They are able to manipulate Mother Nature's mana to heal and protect her and her children. Mother Nature is kind and cunning; she gifts only those with pure hearts the power of her magic."

Amethyst knew almost everything there was to know about magic; if she was this excited about a mage, he really must be incredible. To imagine that was just one of his classes made it almost unbelievable.

"We really lucked out, huh?"

"Yes, we did! Is he here yet? I have so much to ask him!" She gushed out like a child waiting for a birthday present.

"We could still go with the princess, Draven. The recruiter did say this guy is brand-new, I don't need him getting in my way," Kyros said, cutting off Amethyst's rambling.

"You probably just want to use her because she's a princess," Amethyst countered, responding before I could, "or you're just a pervert!"

"Well, it would be nice to have a pretty woman in our party."

Amethyst's eyes were now glowing red with fury, and the air around her grew cold.

"You know nothing about beauty, human." She said calmly and reached down, grabbing a dusty black grimoire that she had on the table.

She opened it to a yellowed page filled with unknown writing in dark red ink. The few words I could make out read, the forbidden curse of instant death.

She might have actually killed Kyros then, but before she could, a new adventurer entered through the front doors of the guild.

The midday light illuminated the room and gleamed down onto the adventurer's pale, golden hair, which flowed to her hips. Her icy blue eyes surveyed the guild, and I couldn't help but watch her.

She must be an angel, was my first thought; how could anyone be this beautiful? My eyes drifted downwards, taking in all of her.

Her cheeks were a rosy pink and slightly dotted with sun-kissed freckles. Her full, soft lips glittered in pink as well.

Her snow-white skin was shining radiantly, even more than her hair.

She wore white priestess robes with long sleeves that went down to her wrists. It displayed gorgeous, gold embroidery that matched her hair. A thin brown belt was wrapped around her tiny waist, emphasizing her figure and the curve of her hips.

Beneath, she wore a pine green skirt with the same intricate stitching. Her skirt was short and showed off her long legs. Her thighs were plump, yet shapely, with an alluring gap between them as she stood.

Long white socks went up to her knees, stretching where they met the bottom of her thighs. I couldn't take my eyes off of her.

The brown boots she wore made soft steps as she made her way inside. She walked towards the front desk, where the guild recruiter was handing a sack of gold coins to a large warrior with an axe.

"You think that's the princess?" Kyros asked me, pulling me back into reality.

I somehow managed to look away from her to respond.

"I don't know." I couldn't think of anything else to say. No words came to mind to express what I was feeling, and I could sense Amethyst's burning gaze on me. It was probably better if I didn't say much anyway.

I returned my view to the front desk, where the priestess was still standing.

She was talking to the guild recruiter now, but I was just out of range to listen to what they were saying. After a second, though, the guild recruiter pointed towards the table where our party was sitting. The girl seemed to thank the recruiter and then turned in our direction.

Even the way she walked seduced me. I watched her hips sway and the slight jiggle of her thighs as she moved directly towards us.

She then stopped in front of me.

I was confused but stood up to greet her. She was fairly short and had to tilt her head upwards to make eye contact with me. I almost got lost in the blue tundra of her eyes.

Her cheeks grew from pink to a deep red as her shy, soft voice reached my ears.

"H-Hello, I am Tianor Iris, you can call me Tia!"

His cheeks were still a deep red, and his shy, soft voice rang in my ears.
