Jasmine's POV
The room felt smaller after Ares left. His last words… "We fight together…" …still echoed in my head like a warning and a promise all at once.
For a few seconds, I just stood there, staring at the empty doorway. Then I turned back to the glowing monitor in front of me. If I had seventy-two hours to clear my name, wasting even a minute wasn't an option.
The breach had to have left a trail. Every digital footprint does.
I cracked my knuckles, pulled my laptop closer, and opened the encrypted KnightCorp archives. My fingers hovered over the keys for a second before typing rapidly, bringing up the server logs from the night of the hack.
Dozens of IPs flashed across the screen, bouncing from country to country… Singapore, Dubai, Moscow… a digital maze meant to mislead anyone trying to follow it.
But I wasn't anyone.
Ares's office access had been restored temporarily under "supervised collaboration." Meaning: the board was watching everything we did.
