"Nonsense, of course it's you. Where's the storeroom?" Kayson asked.
"Uh... it's right behind the desk. There are three gems under the desk. You need to press them in a specific order, and each Professor sets a different order, so I suggest you..." Grindelwald was cut off by two strange thudding sounds before he could finish.
Thump thump....
"Is this the storeroom?" Kayson asked, knocking on the wall with his knuckles and creating a 2m x 1m hole.
"...Yes. Now we need to find my research materials and the Soul Amplifier from back then. I remember the research materials were in a black leather case, and the soul... What are you doing now?"
Kayson indiscriminately transported everything within his sight back to the office using the ring on his hand. He then responded as if it were only natural, "Taking back your things, of course?"
"...Actually, you don't need to take so much," Grindelwald said awkwardly.
"Oh, well, since we're already here, let's just consider it taking some local specialties," Kayson said, his hands not stopping. Soon, the entire storeroom, even the shelves, had been taken back. Just when Grindelwald thought Kayson should surely return, he turned his gaze to the office outside the storeroom.
"Tsk tsk tsk... This book... How come I haven't seen this style of Alchemy before?" Kayson casually took a book on Alchemy from a bookshelf, looked at it with some confusion, and then naturally used the Ender Ring to transport it back to the office.
Next came the entire bookshelf, the small ornaments on the desk, the very comfortable-looking sofa, and the tapestry on the wall looked good too. Wow! The carpet was even made of pure Thestral hair!
Soon, Professor Rostamer's office was basically empty except for a chair and a desk, with only she herself remaining, not having been automatically picked up...
Of course, there were survivors, such as the assignments Little Wizards had given her to grade; not a single one of those was touched.
"Ah, I really am a good person," Kayson sighed, and with a hum, he instantly returned to his office at Hogwarts.
Grindelwald, meanwhile, sat on the sofa Kayson had picked up from Durmstrang, looking at him with a strange gaze.
That look felt a bit... like a parent looking at his good-for-nothing child.
"Tsk tsk tsk, didn't you, old man, tell me to steal things? Why that expression?" Kayson asked.
Grindelwald sighed, "I told you to steal things, not to move house... Forget it, it's my fault too." Grindelwald sighed and held out his hand, and Kayson returned the Portkey monocle.
"Have you found that wisp of your soul? If not, I can help you look for it," Kayson said, looking through the monocle at the batch of items he had taken from the storeroom. More than half of them had some soul attached to them.
"Not this one. After all, that's my soul; I still have some sense of it, more or less," Grindelwald said, finding a mini version of the Soul Amplifier. After picking it up, he seemed to be smelling flowers or stinky tofu; Kayson didn't know.
In short, he took a deep, intoxicated breath...
"That thing has so much dust, aren't you afraid of accidentally inhaling it into your lungs?" Kayson asked offhandedly...
"My lungs feel itchy... but it's harmless," Grindelwald said, rummaging on the floor a few more times. After finding the experimental data for the Soul Twig, he placed it on Kayson's desk.
"This is it," Grindelwald said, and then prepared to get on the small boat and leave the office.
"Mm-hmm, goodbye. I'll ask you if there's anything I don't understand," Kayson waved his hand, then opened the leather case. The next moment, he saw it full of German text.
"...Damn it, Grindelwald!"
....
Grindelwald had no classes in the afternoon, so he reluctantly stayed in Kayson's office to translate the materials. He had to translate these things into English, no matter what.
Kayson, on the other hand, went straight downstairs to the Alchemy classroom. He smiled at the Little Wizards below the podium; now was the time.
It was time to give them a little industrial shock.
He first gathered the Little Wizards, then, as if performing Magic, placed wooden blocks one by one on the podium, and then gently tapped them with a small wrench.
With a pop, a small gear popped out.
"So... Professor, isn't this Alchemy? How did it become Transfiguration?" Cedric asked, puzzled.
"To teach you this lesson, I even specially borrowed a projector from Professor Snape to show you a PPT," Kayson said, pulling out a projector from under the podium and then taking out a very vintage film reel.
"Everyone, pay close attention. This is a documentary on automated assembly line industrialization that I specially found in the Muggle world. It took me a long time to find someone to convert this into a film reel, so don't waste my effort, okay?" Kayson said, standing at the back of the classroom and pressing the projector's switch.
The video was very short, showing the earliest human devices that utilized natural forces, from smashing bones with stones, to sails, waterwheels, levers, and animal power.
And then, humans once again lit up a dazzling technology tree: boiling water.
Corresponding to this were increasingly efficient factories, starting from reliance on human labor, animal power, transmission shafts, steam engines, generators...
....
"So... what's the use of this?" Morgan asked, not understanding.
"Didn't you notice that in these documentaries about the changes in productivity that I just showed you, there was a powerful force that never appeared from beginning to end? Arthur?" Kayson retorted.
"Uh... you know me, I'm not good at riddles," Arthur Morgan spread his hands helplessly.
"Magic power! I investigated for a long time before, and in the entire Wizarding world, no Wizarding society in any country has a proper automated workshop. I found a few simple reasons."
"Firstly, ordinary Muggle creations like steam engines and generators, large energy machines, might undergo anomalies due to the erosion of Magic power. Perhaps even Magic's own unconscious Transfiguration or Vanishing Spells could have a very significant impact."
