"Professor, don't be angry." Neville was much more confident now than in his first year, grinning and begging Kaisen for forgiveness.
"Alright, this is your lesson for today: decipher the principle of this enchantment book. Why can this enchantment book make objects remain loyal to its holder? Remember to write me an essay, either ten feet or five thousand words, and hand it in later."
He handed the enchantment book to Neville, letting him research and decipher it.
Kaisen remained seated on the sofa, legs crossed, and the red crystal ball on the nearby desk lit up once again.
He casually tossed the book in his hand towards it.
The throw was accurate. The office door in the distance opened, and Harry stood outside, looking at Neville studying and the relaxed Professor Kaisen in the far-off office area.
He remembered lending his flying broom to Neville just ten minutes ago, feeling like he wanted to die on the spot.
However, wanting to die was certainly just a figure of speech; he couldn't actually die. Even if the journey was long, he still had to continue.
Kaisen finished reading a magazine, looked up towards Harry, who was halfway there. He thought for a moment, then took out another magazine. After reading half of this one, Harry, wearing the silver-rimmed circular glasses Neville had made for him, finally appeared before him, wiping sweat from his forehead.
"Good physique, worthy of a Seeker," Kaisen praised, then poured him a cup of tea and said.
"Thank you, Professor. This morning I went to the Library to return books. After returning them, when I came back, I heard a strange sound. It sounded like it was coming from the wall, or rather, something inside the wall," Harry said, still panting after chugging the tea.
"Don't rush, speak slowly. Neville, continue your studies, don't get involved in everything."
Kaisen placed the magazine on the coffee table and said.
"Professor, I also heard that wall, or rather, the thing inside the wall, speak."
"...What did it say?"
Harry took a deep breath, his head unconsciously tilting upwards.
"Let me think, it said a lot about you."
Neville, who was nearby, looked up, then was hit on the head by a flying small cube.
"You continue."
"That voice said... [Why did it disappear?] [What is this?] [Space magic? Alchemy?] [Hmm, this is Alchemy...] [It's only been a few decades? I don't recognize Alchemy anymore?] [Damn Alchemy, damn Kaisen Heath, it must be his doing.]"
"I don't remember the exact order of what the voice said, and the voice wasn't particularly clear. That's all I remember."
Kaisen awkwardly scratched his chin and asked, "Where did you hear this eerie sound?"
Harry scratched his head: "Hogwarts' third-floor corridor."
"Third-floor corridor? Is it a ghost? But I don't remember having any conflict with that ghost. Even Peeves usually greets me," Kaisen said, also puzzled.
Harry recalled again: "Oh, Professor Kaisen, the position of that sound was very strange. It often changed positions. Sometimes it was on the ceiling of the third-floor corridor, sometimes on the wall of the third-floor corridor, and sometimes even under the floor of the corridor."
"Emmmm... Honestly, this touches on my blind spots of knowledge, but I can still try to deduce a little."
"'Why did it disappear?' and 'What is this?' These two sentences should be a unit, and there's a little bit missing, like 'What is this situation?' or something similar..."
"But 'Why did it disappear?'... None of the Alchemy creations I've made disappear. And the Iron Golems are all dutifully in hibernation... Wait a minute..."
Kaisen suddenly found the key point: "Harry, approximately when did you hear that sound? What was the approximate directional order of the sound?"
Harry thought for a moment: "It was probably around nine in the morning. The sound's direction should have been from the corridor floor, the left wall of the corridor, the corridor ceiling, the right wall of the corridor, and finally back to the corridor floor, before disappearing."
"Nine o'clock, probably nine forty. The sound initially came from the second-floor corridor... You two stay here, don't leave, I have something to do!"
Kaisen said, then used Ender Teleportation to leave.
Neville, meanwhile, looked up curiously, wanting to ask Harry what was going on.
The next moment, Kaisen appeared behind him, delivering an unfeeling Heaven's Justice.
"I knew you'd slack off! Study hard!"
After Heaven's Justice ended, Kaisen once again used Ender Teleportation to arrive at the Principal's office.
"...Where is he?" He was a bit bewildered.
The historical Principals in the portraits on the wall were all dozing off, not a single one awake.
"Oh... No one can answer me, what a pity." Kaisen murmured, about to walk to the cabinet in the corner, wanting to see if there were any of Dumbledore's private collections inside.
Then he heard a cough.
"Hmm?" He suddenly looked up and scanned the room, finding no living thing.
He just assumed he was hallucinating and continued to search for wine.
"Cough, cough."
"Hmm?" He looked up again, and again found nothing.
"I'm here." This time he finally heard the source of the sound clearly: it was above, it was the Sorting Hat.
"Oh... I thought you... I thought you could only speak during the Sorting Ceremony," Kaisen said, a bit embarrassed.
"In fact, I always have been. Otherwise, who do you think composes the Sorting Song for Hogwarts every year?" the Sorting Hat said.
"Hmm, you are a talented Hat. So, can you please keep a secret for me? Dumbledore is old, and too much alcohol isn't good for him, you know."
The Sorting Hat nodded: "I understand, but I don't think I need to keep a secret."
"What do you mean?"
"You can look back."
Kaisen looked back and saw Dumbledore smiling at him.
"Oh..." He put the wine he had found into his ring, quietly closed the cabinet, and asked Dumbledore, "When was Colin Creevey transported back to his bed today?"
"Hmm... Nine thirty-eight."
"So that's it." Kaisen revealed a smile of super intelligence, quickly recounting to Dumbledore what Harry had told him, mixed with his own deductions.
In other words, the eerie sound Harry heard was actually made by the Basilisk, as long as there were pipes inside Hogwarts' walls that could accommodate the Basilisk.
And not just the pipes; the timing and the strange words Harry heard also matched.
"The so-called [Why did it disappear?] refers to why Colin Creevey suddenly disappeared."
"But Lord Voldemort is really impressive, using the body of a snake and still being able to distinguish between space magic and Alchemy."
Dumbledore, on the other hand, was eerily quiet. Just as Kaisen was about to speak, he was interrupted by the Sorting Hat on the cabinet: "He should be thinking about something important right now. I suggest you don't disturb him."
"Oh... Of course."
About thirty seconds later, he stood up and reached out to take down the Sorting Hat.
"Hmm... Do you sort people who haven't received a Hogwarts acceptance letter?"
"You want me to sort you?" the Sorting Hat said.
"Will you?" he asked.
"You are an exception. Put me on, child."
Kaisen nodded, sat down on the sofa in the corner of the office, dusted off the Sorting Hat, and placed it on his head.
