Dante didn't move.
Didn't blink.
Only the tendons in his neck stood taut, his chest barely rising with each slow inhale. His shadow seemed to stretch across the floor like something alive. His brows constricted slowly.
And that was when Archer finally found his voice.
"Alpha…" he started, almost choking on the word. "Allow me to… begin the investigation immediately."
Dante's gaze flicked towards him…wordless, searing.
Archer dipped his head fast, almost too fast. "By tomorrow,we shall have answers."
Dante said nothing.
That was answer enough.
Archer didn't wait another heartbeat. He moved…fast…grabbing Delilah's wrist on his way out.
"Come on,sis, " he hissed through clenched teeth.
"Archer…"
But his grip only tightened. " Let's get you home. It's very late!"
He dragged her through the hall, ignoring the startled glances of omegas pressed against the walls. Their heads bowed low as the siblings stormed past…Delilah, half stumbling in her heels.
