Chapter 121 - HISD Chapter 121 Marvel, The Three-Year Promise Approaches!

HISD Chapter 121 Marvel, The Three-Year Promise Approaches!

Avengers Tower, residential floor.

"Xiao Meng, should we take this one with us?"

Wanda was packing inside the room, holding up a large plush toy for him to see.

Wearing a casual T-shirt, Vision-Yi Meng sat on the sofa, chin resting on his hand. He considered seriously before replying, "Definitely bring it. After all, it suits your age."

"No way!"

Wanda stuck out her tongue and disappeared back into the room.

At that moment, the doorbell rang.

"Come in."

Vision-Yi Meng waved a hand, his thoughts sparking like static electricity, and the smart door unlocked.

When the door opened—

A middle-aged man stood there, his Iron Man armor fully removed.

Tony Stark looked exhausted, lost in thought, and made no move to step inside.

"Tony, aren't you coming in?" Yi Meng rose to greet him.

Tony shook his head, glanced inside, and hearing the sound of Wanda packing, looked even lonelier. "So, you're leaving Avengers Tower today?"

"Yeah."

Yi Meng nodded, then lowered his gaze to the vibranium star-shaped shield in Tony's hands. "The meeting's over. They've all gone?"

"Yes. Cap and the others… they've all left."

Tony spoke in a low voice. "The Winter Soldier, Bucky, has been officially placed in a maximum-security New York prison. He's sentenced to eight years, with conditions. He must behave, undergo treatment for his brainwashing, and prove he's no threat to society. Otherwise… he'll be locked away forever."

Yi Meng nodded silently.

It was the kind of compromise both sides had to reluctantly accept.

Tony's grip tightened on the shield. "This shield was made by my father. Steve left it behind."

"I see." A faint gleam passed through Yi Meng's eyes.

In the original Captain America 3, Tony had declared Cap unworthy of the shield, forcing him to abandon it.

Now, the shield was willingly left behind by Steve himself.

The outcome was the same, but the path had changed.

Perhaps, Yi Meng thought, his presence had already shifted many unseen threads.

Tony suddenly asked, "Vision… about the Sokovia Accords. Did I make the wrong choice?"

"Tony. The one at fault isn't you—it's the world."

"…?"

"You did your best."

Yi Meng placed a hand on his shoulder. "I believe no one could have done better than you."

His words were sincere, not an act.

The Iron Man from ten years ago would have fought the world's resistance with arrogance and fire.

But with every life weighed on his conscience, with Ultron's mistake still haunting him, Tony no longer had that unshakable confidence. He would rather surrender the Avengers to world governance than face it all alone.

Armor could always be rebuilt. But his body was scarred, his soul growing weary.

People could scorn his choices, reject his philosophy. But no one else had ever borne the burden of protecting this world the way he had.

He carried it because he was Iron Man.

"Thanks, Vision."

Tony turned to leave, clutching the shield. After a few steps, he hesitated. "If one day… I really have a child, son or daughter. Vision, could I ask you to teach them? I mean… be their godfather?"

Yi Meng froze, then smiled warmly. "Of course. I'd be honored."

In his heart, he added silently—

I already have.

Your daughter is amazing.

…

Paris, France.

Inside a new apartment, boxes piled up across the empty living room.

Wanda, nearly twenty, bustled about like a young wife. Hair tied up neatly, pink slippers tapping on the floor, she moved furniture and decorations with quiet energy.

Yi Meng now appeared as a silver-haired youth in long sleeves, standing on the balcony overlooking the city and its towering landmark.

He had two years left to spend in the Marvel Dream.

His thoughts sparked like currents.

In this time, he could quietly consolidate control over Earth. Plant safeguards for the future.

Continue training with the Ancient One, deepening his mastery of the Mind Stone.

And experiment with merging Marvel and DC technologies.

During the Civil War, he had deliberately restrained himself. He hadn't used DC tech, not even Marvel's Pym particles, nano-tech, or hard-light projections. He had only displayed the powers Vision canonically possessed.

In truth, that was just a third of his strength.

But he had discovered something crucial while studying inter-universal technology.

Not all tech was transferable!

Some inventions only worked within their own universe.

For example—Tony's new arc reactor element, an isotope of the Tesseract's space energy, existed only in Marvel.

Pym particles and the time machine? Also unique to Marvel, tied to its Quantum Realm.

Likewise, DC's exclusive theories couldn't function in Marvel's laws of physics.

"Then why can I channel the Mind Stone's power from Marvel into my Doomsday avatar in DC?"

Yi Meng pondered. His link with these Dream worlds was far from simple.

He still had two years here to research it.

But above all, he needed full mastery of the Mind Stone—to completely control his Doomsday self in DC.

If he reached that peak… then perhaps he could finally wake from these layered Dream universes.

"Xiao Meng, help me move this big one!" Wanda's call broke his thoughts.

"Coming."

Yi Meng turned back inside.

…

Meanwhile, in the Quantum Realm—a TVA office.

"Director, you need to see this."

A pudgy tech in uniform beckoned a suited middle-aged man over.

On the screen played footage of Vision pounding Avengers into the dirt at the airport.

"So this is the Sacred Timeline?" the tech muttered in shock.

"Vision does have that power…" the director frowned. "Any new branches?"

The TVA existed to guard one true timeline: the Sacred Timeline.

Whenever deviations threatened to form branches, they acted swiftly.

Like the time Quicksilver had survived when he shouldn't have, nearly creating a branch, until the TVA reset it.

The worker shook his head. "No new branches. Civil War still happened. It's just… Vision seems stronger than before."

"Relax. It's probably just the timeline correcting itself. As long as no branches appear, there's no problem."

The director smiled. "Vision is strong, yes. But in two or three years' time, Thanos's generals will ambush him. In Wakanda, he'll lose the Mind Stone and die."

"That's his sacred fate."

…

The Sacred Timeline, Marvel Universe.

Not long after Wanda and Yi Meng disappeared—

The Avengers' split shook the world. Only Iron Man and War Machine remained.

The Winter Soldier was imprisoned.

Hawkeye retired.

Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow vanished.

Vision and Wanda disappeared as well.

Black Panther returned to Wakanda to rule.

Spider-Man and Ant-Man stayed low-key.

The Civil War was over.

…

Three months later, Spider-Man began making a name in Queens.

Six months later, Tony announced a new Avengers headquarters.

A year and a half later, Tony proposed to Pepper in front of the press. Countless women worldwide wailed in heartbreak.

Time flowed quickly.

Two years later—

In the Mirror Dimension, Paris.

Yi Meng sat cross-legged, reading aloud in a crisp broadcaster's English accent:

"One week ago, Dr. Stephen Strange, renowned New York neurosurgeon, crashed his car. Doctors say his hands may never recover. Permanent paralysis is possible…"

The Ancient One turned her bald head at last, giving him a sidelong glance. "You know quite a lot."

"Just a little."

Yi Meng's brow glowed faintly, his voice calm but resolute.

"Master, the three-year promise is almost here."

"…"
