Chapter 17 - Chapter 17:- Calmness in School

A week had passed, and all preparations were done. The Square gang stayed cautious, waiting for Master and Veer.

Ram lay lazily on the table, staring at his watch — the ticking sound echoed through the silent room.

Sam stood by the window, lost in thoughts. John sat cross-legged, meditating.

Lord was calmly playing chess, as if chaos would never reach him.

Then, the gate creaked open. Master appeared, walking in with Veer beside him — a joker mask covering his face.

"He came," Sam muttered.

Everyone turned toward the door, except Ram, who continued pretending to sleep.

"Where's the money?" Master demanded, his voice mixed with laughter.

A briefcase filled with cash lay on the table. Veer's expression showed clear irritation, but the deal continued silently. As Master took the money, he leaned closer and whispered,

"Is he alive… your leader?"

Before anyone could react, Ram threw a knife — but Master caught it effortlessly.

"The calm one got angered, haha," he chuckled.

Lord didn't move a muscle. His eyes stayed fixed on the chessboard.

"Alright, I'll be going now. And thank you for the gift, Ram," Master said, leaving with the briefcase.

Disappointment filled the room. No one spoke.

"He'll be back again — for more," Lord finally said.

The room sank into a quiet gloom.

Outside, Taarush had seen Master leaving and wondered what business he had there.

Days went by peacefully for him. Sannya would blush whenever their eyes met; her feelings for him were growing quietly.

It was a normal day — regular classes, exams approaching — but something still bothered Taarush. He wanted to know more about this strange school.

The lunch bell rang.

As he walked down the corridor, a familiar voice called out,

"Heading to the canteen?"

Sannya's face was close to his, and Taarush blushed.

"L-let's go together," he said shyly.

He couldn't stop thinking: Who are these people… and why am I involved with them?

When Sannya talked with another boy, jealousy pricked his heart.

"I forgot something… I'll see you later," he said softly.

She laughed. "Calm down, he's just a friend."

Sannya knew Taarush liked someone — though she didn't know who. Deep down, she hoped it was her.

As school ended, they walked home together. The road was peaceful — birds flying above, wind brushing gently.

Neither spoke for a while until Sannya suddenly held his hand.

"Let's go to the restaurant," she smiled.

Taarush was surprised but happy. He let her lead.

Inside the restaurant, they saw workers chatting and students laughing.

"What would you like to have?" asked a calm voice.

Both froze — it was Lord, dressed as a waiter.

Sannya instantly recognized him from the kidnapping incident.

"Don't worry," he said softly. "I'm just a normal person here."

"I'll have whatever's special here," Taarush said, trying to sound confident.

Lord nodded and left.

"I'm sorry," Sannya whispered.

"It's okay," Taarush smiled. "Let's just enjoy the food."

Nearby, a group of girls were giggling around a tall guy — Ram.

Taarush sighed. "What's going on today…" he muttered with a sad baby face.

Sannya couldn't help but find his jealousy cute.

Lord returned with food.

"This is our special — chicken fried rice. It's on the house," he said, placing the plates quietly.

The food was delicious, and they couldn't stop eating.

When Taarush choked a little from eating too fast, Ram silently placed a glass of water beside him.

They finished their meal and stood to leave — only to see John at the counter, acting as the manager.

"Oh god… my peaceful day is over," Taarush thought.

Then Sam came out from the kitchen.

"He's the chef," Lord explained with a faint smile.

To their surprise, nothing bad happened.

As they walked out, Lord called out cheerfully,

"Come again! Thank you!"

On the way home, Taarush walked Sannya to her gate.

She smiled, "Today was… nice."

He nodded. "Yeah, a day without danger. That's new."

Later that night, Sannya sat on her bed, her heart still racing.

She typed a message — "Same here. Thank you for today."

Taarush smiled when he saw it.

He looked out the window and whispered,

"Maybe these lunatics… are human after all."

Outside, somewhere in the shadows, Lord watched quietly, a small smile on his face —

"Enjoy your calm days while they last," he murmured.
