Chapter 104 - CHAPTER 104

Julie, the Deal is Done

Hearing Xu Mo's refusal, Julie hurriedly explained.

"Don't worry, I haven't been touched by anyone yet…"

Xu Mo raised his hand to stop her. A purple light flashed in his eyes, and a demonic contract appeared in the air between them.

"Read the contents first. If you agree, sign the contract, and you can begin learning magic."

After saying that, Xu Mo ignored her and calmly sipped his coffee.

Julie looked up at the paper-like contract woven from black light. The words appeared clearly before her.

"Unconditional obedience?"

"My life in your hands?"

Her expression grew darker with each line. Simply put, the contract was almost equivalent to selling herself. If she signed, her life would be bound to Xu Mo, and he could take it with just a thought.

She frowned, hesitant.

Xu Mo, however, remained unbothered. Although Julie was suitable to manage Silent Hill, she wasn't the only choice. He could find someone else, though it would take time.

The contract's harsh terms were entirely his doing. He could have lent his magic freely—but why would he? His power was endless and cost him nothing, but that didn't mean he'd give it away.

If someone was to manage Silent Hill for him, he had to ensure absolute control. He trusted no one's character—only systems that let him pull the strings.

After ten minutes and two cups of coffee, Xu Mo was about to order a third when Julie finally lifted her head. Anger flashed in her eyes.

"I'll sign!"

Xu Mo shook his head. With a wave of his hand, the contract dissolved.

"I don't like forcing people. If you sign unwillingly, it's meaningless."

He stood up, preparing to leave.

The contract was no soul seal—it didn't rewrite someone's will. It was a collar, not brainwashing. If she signed in resentment, she would obey but harbor hatred. He needed her to choose submission.

Julie froze, realizing her mistake. She needed this power, yet she had shown resentment. Quickly, she stood, apologizing.

"I'm sorry. I was wrong."

Xu Mo saw her sincerity. His lesson had worked. Still, he didn't let her off so easily. The contract reappeared—this time with a new condition.

Now, Xu Mo could control her body directly, as if she were a puppet.

Julie noticed the addition but didn't hesitate. She signed.

The contract split into two streams of black light and sank into their foreheads. Julie felt the binding, then frowned.

"Why don't I feel anything?"

"Like this?" Xu Mo replied.

Julie's body suddenly moved on its own—performing a standing split right in front of him. She blushed, quickly lowering her leg once control returned.

Now she understood—the contract was real.

"When will you teach me magic?!" she asked eagerly.

"Teach? No need."

Xu Mo reached into a swirling space gate and pulled out a thick book. After transcribing a portion of the Dark God Book onto it, he tossed it to her.

"Study this yourself. Let's see if you can manage."

Julie's eyes widened at the portal. She quickly flipped open the book.

The first page described the space gate. Her face lit up with excitement.

"This means… I can take anything from anywhere?!"

"Exactly," Xu Mo said. "Practice hard. It won't take long before you can use it. But don't disturb me unless it's important. I'll contact you when I need you."

With that, he stood and prepared to return to his hotel.

"Wait!" Julie rushed to him, handing over a business card. "Here's my number and address. And… I live alone."

She was in high spirits, thrilled by magic's reality and the prospect of mastering it herself.

Xu Mo glanced at the card, slipped it into his pocket, and smirked.

"If you get lonely, I can send Alessa to keep you company for a while."

He turned and left.

Julie watched his back with a smile.

"This deal… isn't bad at all."
