"You won't forget us, right?" Adrian asked, eyes a bit glassy as they stood at the dock.
Work had finally called them back. Even as freelancers under Ouroboros they still needed to remain active, and they were dangerously close to the three-month limit. Their privilege would be gone if they didn't return now.
"What do you think I am? A goldfish?" Lucien lifted a brow.
Adrian only clung tighter, gripping his hand like he was being abandoned forever.
"Let him go, Adrian. I want to say goodbye too." Silas stepped in, calm as always.
"But we won't see him after this!" Adrian complained and suddenly wrapped Lucien in a crushing hug that knocked the air out of him.
"For a couple of days? Let go." Silas pried his brother off as if he were peeling gum off someone's hair. "The faster we arrive, the faster our work done, okay! So let me say goodbye too!"
Lucien sighed. "Silas is right, and don't be dramatic. It's not like I'm going anywhere." He paused. "For now."
