She walked to the rink during what should have been afternoon practice. Stood outside like a stalker, waiting to catch him coming or going.

"He's not here," Liam said.
"Where is he?"
"Don't know. Coach said he's taking personal days. Left campus Sunday night. Hasn't been back since."

"Did he say where he was going?" Silver's voice came out smaller than she intended.
"No. Just texted the group chat that he needed a few days. That he'd be back." Liam's expression was sympathetic. "He's not doing great, Silver. Whatever happened between you two really messed him up."
