Silver made it through Economics without incident.

She'd debated skipping. Spending the day hiding in her room until the Carroway situation blew over. But that felt like admitting defeat. Like letting him win.

So she went to class.

She arrived late, slipping into a back row seat just as Professor Morrison started his lecture on market failures. A few heads turned. A couple of whispers. Nothing she couldn't handle.

Eli caught her eye from his usual spot three rows ahead. He'd wanted to sit with her but she'd insisted on maintaining normalcy. Whatever that meant anymore.

The lecture dragged. Silver took notes she wouldn't remember, her mind replaying the morning's chaos. The post. The texts. Sarah's statement. The Dean's investigation.
