Chapter 11 - Sister

11 Sister

Amidst silence, the car accelerated on the road, leaving the dungeon area and entering the residential complex. In just thirty minutes, the car stopped in front of a house.

"Be ready. Tomorrow at 8 a.m., I'll be here to take you to the hunters' association," Joana said, to which Alex nodded.

Alex crossed the sidewalk and headed to his residence.

He didn't have his belongings at the moment and had to use the spare key. In his original reality, his father used to keep the key in some notch on the step; fortunately, the key was in the same place.

Alex looked at the familiar house, yet strange at the same time. Everything was the same, but the decoration was completely opposite to what he was used to. When he was just a child, his mother had abandoned him and his father.

Looking at the house's decoration, Alex assumed it must be because, in this reality, his mother hadn't abandoned them, given that there were no memories of her in his mind. He wondered how their encounter would be, since he used to hate her in his original reality.

Fatigue took over as he decided to go upstairs to rest a little; his mind and body needed to relax before entering yet another sea of emotions, not to mention that tomorrow he had to wait for Joana.

Opening the bedroom door, a strange sight assaulted him, immediately followed by the screams of five young, half-naked maidens. As if that wasn't enough, one of them launched a sphere of light, which was repelled back by his gravitational field.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?"

Alex couldn't help but get a good look at the bodies the girls were trying to hide. The questions made the girls even more frightened when they saw that their friend's attack had no effect.

Alex was wearing a completely ragged prison uniform with the top part uncovered, displaying his masculine build, and in the scenario where the girls were, the misunderstanding was entirely justified.

"You're trespassing on private property, I'm calling the police."

One of the girls grabbed her phone, dialing a number.

Alex was stunned. Wasn't this his house? Could it be that in this reality the house belonged to someone else? If it did, Alex would be in trouble again; he had already been arrested due to a misunderstanding and couldn't believe he might have to return to the police station.

"Brother! Is that you?"

As Alex prepared to use his high agility to escape, the girl who had attacked him earlier exclaimed as she approached him.

"Brother!"

This time, the four girls, along with Alex, shouted at the same time. It was then that he briefly remembered in this reality, not only had his mother not abandoned them, but he also had a sister.

Now properly dressed after calming her friends and seeing them leave, Alex and Lúcia, his sister, were in a room looking at a woman lying on a large bed, sleeping peacefully.

"You really lost your memory. When Miss Joana told me this, I thought it was an invention of yours to escape punishment."

Lúcia's voice carried a mixed tone of concern and slight irritation.

Alex remained silent, letting his sister say everything she had in her heart. She then collapsed onto her brother's chest.

"First it was mom, then dad, and now even you, a useless person, dare to leave me alone. I was so worried. How can you do this to me?"

The girl's body shook, tears streaming down amid her sobs.

Lúcia cried for about thirty minutes. Alex didn't console her; he didn't know what to say. In his reality, it had been only him and his father. From the words that came out amid his sister's sobs, he gradually understood what kind of worthless person he was in this reality.

"What happened to your body? How did you get so big all of a sudden?"

Lúcia wiped her tears and her red eyes from crying so much, speaking as she touched her brother's body, seeing how much he had changed.

"Did they dye your hair in prison? Are you really my brother? They didn't swap you, did they?"

Lúcia said as she stepped out of her brother's embrace. Alex smiled slightly.

"These eyes can only be yours. Only you and Dad have them."

He said with their faces almost touching.

"You don't even remember Mom?" Lúcia asked sadly, to which Alex shook his head.

"We must look like strangers to your eyes, right?"

Having said that, it seemed Lúcia would burst into tears once again. Seeing this, Alex had to intervene. Although his sister was right at this point, he had to say something to comfort her.

"I may not remember you with my head,"

Pointing to his heart, he continued,

"But I remember with my heart. I feel you, my dear mother and sister."

Seeing her brother's serious face, Lúcia broke into laughter as if there were no tomorrow. She laughed so much that her dry eyes produced tears again.

"I'm sorry."

She didn't stop for some time. Seeing that she wasn't crying, Alex let her laugh at him, at least for now.

Alex was then shown to his room. As he saw, what he had entered earlier belonged to his sister. He arrived at the time when his sister and her friends were playing cards, and with each loss, one of them was required to remove an article of clothinghence the explanation for what had happened.

The next day.

After a peaceful night's sleep, Alex went downstairs where he found breakfast on the table and a note from his sister, according to which she had already left for work and had left everything in order, including their mother's necessities. Soon, someone would arrive to take care of their mother.

While waiting for the person, Alex had breakfast as he watched the news on television.

While eating, he decided to reflect a little on what his future would be like. What could have happened to the version of himself who originally belonged to this reality? As far as he knew, he had arrived here with his own body.

Could they both have been swapped, and the other him was occupying his original reality, enjoying everything he had achieved, including his beautiful girlfriend Tiffany? And what would he do about Tiffany in this reality?

Putting aside his thoughts, he went to answer the door. Apparently, it was one of his sister's friends who had been present the night before.

When the appointed time arrived, Alex went outside and saw Joana waiting for him.

When the door was opened, the girl on the other side was completely surprised. Not much time had passedonly a few hoursbut the man already looked like a completely different person.

Black glasses that reflected his eyes, his beautiful black hair with purple tones neatly combed back in waves, a black coat accented by a vest that outlined his well-defined body.

"Aren't you coming in?"

Alex spoke with a beautiful smile, seeing the girl frozen in the doorway with a strange look.

"Lúcia said you would come. Right on time, I must add. Well, make yourself comfortable."

Alex's eyes were fixed on his left wrist where his watch was, since his right hand held his control device. The girl nodded while looking at the man's broad shoulders.

At the end of the street, a car was waiting for him. It was Ana. Just as agreed the day before, she was there, right on schedule.

Alex opened the front passenger door and got in.

"Good morning, Mrs. Joana. How are you?"

"Good morning, I'm well. You look elegant today, very different from yesterday. It's really like night and day."

Alex looked out the window at the city as Joana accelerated along the road, leaving several cars behind.

"How are the girls who survived the dungeon with me?"

Alex's hands lightly touched the device in his right hand as he thought about everything that had happened since he arrived in this reality.

"They are fine. Someone I trust is taking care of their cases. Since the crimes they committed are not serious, they served their sentences on conditional freedom, working at the hunters' association."

Thirty minutes later, Alex was already familiar with his responsibilities and those of his surviving companions. It was then that the car entered the association's parking lot.

"Welcome to the hunters' association."

Alex looked at the imposing building, which visibly exceeded thirty floors.
