Chapter 91 - The Day Before

When the message arrived, Alexander Pierce was sitting comfortably in his office, savoring a cup of rich, aromatic coffee.

Compared to Nick Fury, who half-believed Tony Stark's nonsense about aliens and mythology, Pierce had a bit more faith—about seventy to eighty percent.

His belief stemmed from Hydra's past success in acquiring the Cosmic Cube of Norse myth—an artifact that had powered the creation of numerous high-tech weapons.

That very real piece of history convinced Pierce that other mythologies might also conceal powerful relics or hidden truths.

So, when his subordinates reported that three aliens had appeared near Tony Stark, Pierce immediately ordered enhanced surveillance around Stark and told a special operations team to stand by.

If the opportunity presented itself, Pierce wouldn't mind capturing an alien or two.

On the other hand, Nick Fury had just finished reading the same report.

He did want to send someone to make contact with the aliens directly—but then remembered what happened in Prosper City's "desert incident," and wisely abandoned the idea.

Without enough intel, a direct encounter was too risky. Instead, he decided to gather psychological and behavioral data first, and only later engineer a few "accidental meetings."

If he could establish friendly relations with even one alien, that would be ideal.

One step at a time—slow and steady wins the race.

And so, Fury increased the number of agents stationed around Stark's villa.

The number of hidden operatives near Tony Stark's home quietly multiplied.

Fortunately, no one inside the villa seemed to care how many watchers were outside. Everyone was busy doing their own thing.

Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers were training, doing one-arm handstand pushups. Every extra rep was another step toward rebuilding their strength.

Kayaba Akihiko, Tony Stark, and Byakuya (the "White Demon") were deep in a heated discussion about how to design the comic convention venue.

Byakuya, having lived for centuries, had seen countless architectural styles. Kayaba, once obsessed with creating the ideal floating castle, had also studied many forms of architecture.

With two design masters criticizing every suggestion, Tony Stark's sense of aesthetics was thoroughly dismantled. The topic of discussion quickly derailed.

Rhodey stood nearby, listening with amused satisfaction as Tony got roasted.

Meanwhile, Pepper Potts had created a private chat group for the villa's women, happily discussing makeup, skincare, and fashion.

Muyang and Dr. Yinsen each lounged with a cup of tea, legs crossed, manga spread open on their laps, reading lazily.

When one is absorbed in their work, time flies. Before they knew it, it was noon.

After several hours of debate, Byakuya and the others finally settled on the design for the convention venue.

Byakuya memorized the holographic blueprint, then teleported into the palace. Pressing his small hand against the wall, he began to reshape the structure.

The jeweled palace melted like ice, turning into a translucent, shimmering liquid that floated gently upon the sea.

Then, as if guided by invisible hands, the liquid solidified into semi-transparent buildings and furniture that sparkled brilliantly under the sunlight.

For the final touch, vibrant colors—red, yellow, blue, green, cyan, and violet—spread rapidly through the crystalline forms, transforming them into a breathtaking kaleidoscope of architecture.

"Done."

Byakuya clapped his hands, teleporting back into the villa—just in time to see Tony posting the comic convention's time and location on social media.

A quick glance at the group chat confirmed Tony hadn't shared the details there.

Without a moment's hesitation, Byakuya typed:

"Attention everyone who wants to attend the comic con! I'll cover all travel expenses! The event is tomorrow at 8 a.m., location is—"

The room fell silent. Everyone turned to look at him strangely.

Should they admire his courage—or his insanity?

Just two days ago, he had taunted half the group. And now, he was inviting that same group to his convention?Did he actually want those hot-headed maniacs to show up and wreck the place?

Tomorrow's event… was going to be very interesting.

The group chat's atmosphere turned weird. Replies came in—friendly? Sarcastic? Hard to tell.

Uchiha Madara: "Don't worry, I'll be there on time..."(In his mind: And I'll wash my neck and wait for you, brat.)

Nagato: "I'll be there on time."Minato Namikaze: "I'll be there on time."

Neither of them bore Madara's murderous intent—they just wanted to teach him a lesson.

Danzo & Hiruzen Sarutobi: "Don't worry, we'll be there."Both had recently been scolded by their teacher and were itching for a punching bag. Congratulations, Byakuya—you volunteered.

Kakashi and Obito messaged they were busy grinding monsters in hell, no time for games.

Vegapunk: "I'll be there on time!"(Target: First place in the cosplay contest!)

Garp: "I'll be there."(As Vegapunk's bodyguard, unfortunately...)

Several others who just wanted to watch the chaos also said they'd come, eager for front-row seats to the show.

And of course, there were freeloaders like Zhang Zhiwei, Itadori Yuji, and Kamijou Touma, who planned to eat and drink for free under the guise of attending.

Others, like Shukaku and Wu Liuqi, were eyeing the cosplay competition prizes—possibly joined by Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, assuming they could sneak out past their mothers again.

Byakuya read all the replies and nodded in satisfaction."I hope tomorrow's convention will be lively and fun."

Rest assured—it will be lively, all right.Just not the kind of lively you're hoping for.

Tony and the others silently exchanged glances, their inner thoughts perfectly aligned.

Meanwhile, Tony's social media post spread like wildfire.

Countless people—drawn by the prize for the cosplay competition—set out with the thought: Maybe I'll win if I just give it a shot!

Soon, cars, planes, and trains full of cosplayers were heading toward the event location.

At the same time, those who coveted Tony Stark's body or mind were also en route to New York—though their intentions needed no explanation.

The comic convention would share its venue with a joint Energy and Gaming Expo, attracting representatives from both industries eager to get first-hand information and craft counter-strategies.

Companies from other fields, never ones to miss a good spectacle, were also sending people just to "see the show" and pick up gossip.

The winds gathered. The storm approached.

All paths converged on the convention.

Yes—the phrasing sounds a bit dramatic, but the meaning's clear enough.

One thing was certain:Tomorrow… would be a very lively day.
