Physical exam day.
Gu Qianran snuck around like a guilty puppy, fooled her little girlfriend, changed into a nurse's uniform, and hid in the staff lounge. Just now, when she passed the blood draw area, her back went cold.
From the bottom of her heart, Gu Qianran thanked the Li family's golden cheat. To be precise, it was the golden cheat of Li Junze's company, since under Li Junze's maneuvers, plus the enemies Gu Qianran had deliberately made early on, the Li Corporation was already on the verge of collapse.

How could this be happening? What if she died on the spot? What if Bai Ziyuan happened to be assigned to the same blood draw group, and they ended up face to face, how awkward would that be? More importantly, she did not know how to draw blood.
The doctor did not give her a choice and dragged her along. Gu Qianran hurried off a message to Li Junze.

It did sound suspiciously like a gaming call for help.
He realized in a flash and swore under his breath, then dialed the direct line at top speed.
Across from her sat Li Junyao, and Gu Qianran's head began to ache. He apparently had not recognized her, otherwise he would not be spouting this much nonsense.
Li Junyao slouched in the chair, smiling in that greasy, wicked way. "Pretty nurse, why are you not giving me a shot? Do not worry about hurting me. As long as you are willing, my entire body is yours. Poke me as you please."
Even during a physical, Li Junyao had to flirt. Gu Qianran narrowed her eyes and lowered her voice. "You said it."
"I did," Li Junyao vowed, full of confidence. He thought this little nurse had delicate features, and with his recent rebound in women's favor, his mood to tease rose. Hearing her reply, he assumed she was shy and felt even prouder. He was a child of heaven after all. That Gu Qianran was nothing.
Then that nothing at all pressed at his arm twice like she was finding the vein and drove the needle in hard.
"Ugh," Li Junyao barely kept from screaming.
Gu Qianran offered an apologetic smile, the sound of it brimming with the taste of a plan well executed. "Ah, sorry, I am only a trainee nurse. I did not find the vein. I will try again."
Li Junyao nodded through gritted teeth. Gu Qianran pulled out the bloody needle, swapped for a fresh set, and began a new round of mistakes.
Only after wasting half a dozen needles did she, fully satisfied, summon the actual professional that Li Junze had called in. Then she dusted off her hands and slipped away, hiding her name and merit.
What bad intentions could a little nurse possibly have, right, Gu Qianran?

When the blood draw finally ended, Gu Qianran sneaked back to Bai Ziyuan's side. Bai Ziyuan looked blankly at her girlfriend, who was radiating joy.

Bai Ziyuan's ears flushed. For some reason, her knees felt a little weak.
Gu Qianran still held out until two months later, on the day of the coming of age. By a nice coincidence, the next day was Bai Ziyuan's birthday. That night, Gu Qianran smiled with crescent eyes and called to her. "Little Yuan, come here. I have a surprise."
Bai Ziyuan melted at that voice and walked over defenselessly, only to be pressed down onto the bed in an instant.
Bai Ziyuan arched on reflex and struggled hard. "Qianran, liar. Where is the surprise?" Stinky Qianran did nothing all day but trick her into bed.
Gu Qianran's smile was gentle as she leaned down. "You will know in a minute."
Next door, Ji Tang stared speechlessly at a brick neatly packaged inside a gift box, the words "Congratulations to Ji Tang on Coming of Age" engraved on it. She knew it. Since when were Bai Zilu's surprises ever respectable.
Ji Tang looked at Bai Zilu without expression. "This is your surprise." Itched to smack that "surprise" across her face.
Bai Zilu flashed a sly grin. "Of course not." She tugged Ji Tang's sleeve. "The real surprise is in the bedroom."
Ji Tang lifted a brow and followed her in. The room looked normal. Just as she wondered, she realized that at some point Bai Zilu had changed into a very sinful set of lingerie and was throwing sultry glances.
"Ji Tang, do you like this gift?"
Ji Tang's gaze darkened, the corner of her mouth tilting up. "I like it very much." So this was what she meant. Since Bai Zilu had done all this, it meant, whatever Ji Tang did to her, all of it was fine, right.
Very good. Tomorrow was the weekend. Gu Qianran and Ji Tang had the same thought at the same time.
A spring night that did not end.
Afterward, as Bai Ziyuan dozed off, Gu Qianran took out a necklace warmed by her pocket and gently clasped it around Bai Ziyuan's neck. Gu Qianran stroked her hair, voice full of pampering.
