"There's no need for that, Your Grace."
Ellis responded emotionlessly, sliding the hand on his shoulder off of his body.
"Please be on your way. I need to… go and pray."
He felt ashamed of saying he was going to pray after tangling with a man in the purification bath. What kind of purification was this?
Well, luckily, he didn't know how he should be praying to Cerys anyway. Ellis slowly got up on his own to dry himself with a cotton towel as Duke Alastair lingered behind him, fully dressed already. Despite his still wet hair, he appeared the same as when he had come.
"What happened to the mark? I clearly remember marking you."
"As I've said before, I'm not the one you're searching for, Your Grace."
With conviction, Ellis replied to Duke Alastair and began to dress in his saint robes that were placed nearby on a shelf, not sparing a single glance in Duke Alastair's direction. Then he remembered another thing he had meant to ask Duke Alastair.
