I don't think your companion wants anyone following her, and I doubt she can save herself or Eyes-of-Clay. If you want to help him, you'll have to do it yourself.

"Are you a spirit?" I assume my best manners: this house cat might be half a god or more.
"What if I don't want to save Eyes-of-Clay? What if I think he's a poor doomed asshole?"
"I didn't think cats and wolves got along. Are you a cat, or, like, a metaphor for cats?"
"Okay, what do we do?" With this cat's help, I might still be able to enter the Umbra, or learn something.
