Garion hung in the air, blood dripping slowly onto the road below.
Each drop hit the stone with a dull sound.
He lifted his head and looked at both of them.
"…You two," he said hoarsely. "You really think this is the end?"
Morveth smirked.
"Of course," he replied calmly. "You're bound. Sealed. You're nothing more than meat waiting to be cut."
Zathrek laughed along with him, arms crossed, ash rolling lazily off his body.
Garion suddenly laughed.
It was low, rough, but steady.
"Let me ask you something," Garion said. "Eating my flesh made you stronger, right? Strong enough to become a Duke."
Morveth raised an eyebrow.
"And?"
Garion's eyes sharpened.
"Don't you think that means I'm way stronger than you?"
Zathrek scoffed. "Stronger than a Demon Duke? Don't make me laugh."
Morveth shook his head slightly.
"You're sealed," he said. "Powerless. Whatever strength you think you have doesn't matter anymore."
Garion smiled.
"Yeah," he said. "You sealed my mana."
