MIRANDA
"Happy coincidence."
"This way," said the bedazzled hostess. Her smile turned warm and inviting. "Or would you like to wait for the other person in your party?"
"She's already here," said Simon, tugging on Miranda's brunette curls. "Would you have dinner with me? Please?"
On one hand, Miranda wasn't sure she wanted to spend her birthday meal with Simon. On the other hand, she wasn't going to enjoy dinner at this restaurant unless she took the man's invitation. Miranda was hungry and feeling impatient. Being off schedule always put her in an irritated state.
"Fine," she said, sighing. "I'll eat with you."
"Excellent." Simon draped his arm around Miranda's shoulder and gave her a light kiss. Simon's lips were soft and warm as they pressed against Miranda's mouth for mere seconds. Her heart jumped in her chest. No doubt whatsoever she was crazy attracted to him.
