The world tilted a little when Anita said those words.
"Disappear from Atlas forever."
Why was she ready to go this length for a man.
It shouldn't have bothered me on another day because I didn't have anything to do with Drey, but her confidence gave me that dreary feeling, and the way her lips curved into a smile like she already knew pieces of my fate
cold travelled down my spine.
"You must tell me all you know about the Bound and who wants me dead among the elders." I muttered, forcing my voice steady.
She chuckled lightly, flipping her hair behind her shoulder as if she wasn't standing inches from the girl she swore she would kill.
"You don't get it, Becky. There are secrets in this city that existed before you were even born."
I stiffened.
"Secrets about the Blood Moon child… about you."
