Becky POV
"Mom, let him leave us alone. I'm perfectly fine." I lied through my teeth.
"He's not a monster," she whispered weakly.
"It's just how he hurt me and made me do something I regret every night."
Her throat bobbed, guilt or hurt or confusion swirling in her eyes.
She lifted her eyes to mine.
"I don't care what he says as long as you assure me you will be fine. I don't care what prophecy you're tied to. You're not going anywhere with him. Not while I'm breathing."
I sighed, not knowing what to do next. It hurt so bad that a complete family was something I never got to experience.
"Master Felix, I'm not going with you; I can handle everything."
"Patricia, listen to me. There's no time for this."
Master Felix called my mom; it's been a long time since she heard her name like that.
My mother's voice trembled, "You don't understand anything, Felix."
"Becky, let's go."
Just then Master Felix dropped a bombshell.
