Julian soared through the heavens atop his majestic eagle, Sora, cutting through the mist toward the Water Clan's domain. As the eagle's talons gripped the earth, Julian dismounted to find the Clan Leader, Hiroga, waiting with a face etched in worry.
"Welcome, Vice-Captain of the Frost Legion," Hiroga greeted him, his voice strained. "We are deeply indebted to your swift response."
Julian offered a sharp nod. "Greetings, Leader Hiroga. Tell me, how grave is the situation?"
"The Earth Clan has delivered an ultimatum," Hiroga sighed, looking toward the horizon. "They have given us but a single hour to decide our fate: either we bend the knee and join their ranks, or we prepare for the slaughter of war."
Julian's brow furrowed in disbelief. "What madness drives them to break a long-standing peace treaty so recklessly?"
"A few days ago," the Leader whispered, "a stranger arrived, clutching a fragment of a peculiar stone. He claimed it possessed a terrifying primordial power—a power currently held by the Fire Clan. He sought an alliance, warning that the Fire Clan intends to use that strength to subjugate all three clans."
"Did you identify this man?" Julian asked, his suspicion rising. "Or did he leave a trace of this 'power' behind?"
Hiroga reached into his robes and produced a small shard. "I know not his name, but he left this, saying I should measure the threat for myself."
The moment Julian's fingers brushed the stone, a cold shiver raced down his spine. Even as a mere fragment, the energy thrumming within was colossal—dark and ancient. If the Fire Clan truly possesses the heart of this stone, Julian thought, the world is in peril. But how did a stranger obtain a piece of it? This smells of a deeper conspiracy, a puppet master pulling the clans into a bloodbath. We must find the source, but first, the Earth Clan's march must be halted.
"Where is the Lord of Frost?" Hiroga asked, snapping Julian back to reality.
"My Commander is currently within the Fire Clan's borders on a diplomatic mission for stability," Julian reassured him. "Fear not; he will be here soon."
Chapter II: The Black Flame of Resentment
Meanwhile, within the borders of the Fire Clan, the air was thick with the scent of ozone and charred earth. Black flames—unnatural and suffocating—licked the sky. Two brothers stood amidst the ruins, a world apart.
Hiroki, the elder brother, stared in horror at the figure before him. "Where will this end, Ain? Those black flames... they feed on the deepest hatred. They turn the wielder into a monster, a creature whose skin knits itself back together every time it's broken, like a grotesque, unhuman husk."
"Not human?" Ain's voice was a jagged blade. "Fine. But tell me, you who claim 'humanity'—is it human to hunt down a defenseless woman and attempt to take her life? Is that your morality?"
"What has the Fire Clan to do with this?" Hiroki stammered.
Ain raised his sword, the black fire roaring to life. "It has everything to do with it! You tried to kill the one for whom I would give the entire world—the jewel of my heart, the only reason you all still draw breath... my mother!"
Hiroki's eyes widened as he drew his blade, but it was too late. A surge of obsidian fire erupted from Ain's sword, swelling into a gargantuan crescent of flame that blotted out the sun.
"You tried to burn away the last of my humanity," Ain roared. "So, to ensure you never have the chance again... burn here and now!"
Chapter III: The Clash of Titans
As the massive wave of black fire descended like a falling sky, Hiroki stood frozen. "I... I cannot stop this. This power is beyond me."
"Are you going to stand there while the village turns to ash?" a booming voice commanded from behind.
The Fire Clan Leader stepped forward, his presence commanding the very heat of the air. With a roar, he unsheathed his twin blades and leaped into the heart of the inferno. The collision of their powers sent a shockwave that rattled the foundations of the village. The two forces cancelled each other out, but a lethal thermal wave surged outward, threatening to incinerate everything left.
Suddenly, a rift tore open in space. A hand emerged, activating the Beast of the Covenant symbol. A deluge of ancient ice exploded forth, coating the village in a protective glacial shell. The ice met the heat, neutralizing the blast and saving the inhabitants.
Andre, the Lord of Frost, stepped through the portal, his gaze sweeping over the charred remains. "It seems I arrived just in time," he muttered, noting that even his ice struggled to quench the lingering black embers.
Chapter IV: The Reckoning
Seeing the ice, Ain knew Andre had arrived. He didn't wait. He locked eyes with the shadow he knew all too well—his father. With a burst of speed, Ain lunged. The Fire Clan Leader parried the blow with cold indifference.
"Finally, you show yourself, Father," Ain hissed. "The time for reckoning is here. I will end this before the Lord of Frost can intervene."
"I do not understand this petulance," the Leader replied coldly. "If you wish to fight, do it quickly. I have no time for this."
"No time?" Ain's rage hit a boiling point. "Is that what you said when you sent them to kill my mother? When you sent them for me?"
The Leader looked at his son with a hollow gaze. "And what if I did? What will you do? Will you kill me?"
Those words were the spark in the powder keg. Ain lost all reason. His flames grew sharper, more feral, his attacks a chaotic whirlwind of death. Hiroki watched from the sidelines, his heart breaking. Father... did you truly do this? Or have you become someone else entirely?
Suddenly, a blur of silver light cut through the battlefield. Andre moved with blinding speed, his blade intercepting Ain's lethal strike.
"Ain, stop!" Andre commanded. "Control your rage, or these flames will consume you from the inside out."
"Step aside, Andre!" Ain screamed. "This is my blood debt! Stay out of it!"
"It became the village's business the moment you nearly wiped them out," Andre countered, his voice softening but remaining firm. "Stop this, Ain. Your mother would be heartbroken to see you like this... and she has already begun to recover. She is awake."
The words acted like a drenching rain on a forest fire. The black flames flickered, then died. Ain's sword lowered, his breathing ragged, as the weight of the news finally broke through the darkness of his heart
