"Oh no. We are not doing that. I asked you first." Isabella studied his face. "You look tired. Are you sleeping?"
"Enough."
"That means no." She reached up and touched his cheek. "You have lost weight."
"I am fine, Mom."
"You are working too hard. Whatever business you are running, it is consuming you." Her eyes narrowed. "And do not think I do not notice that you will not tell me exactly what business that is."
Zayden smiled slightly. "You know I cannot talk about work."
"Because it is classified or because it is illegal?"
"Mom—"
"I am joking. Mostly." Isabella sat back. "Fine. Keep your secrets. But at least tell me about this girl."
Zayden raised an eyebrow. "What girl?"
"The girl. The one Zayn told me about. Aylin. The one you are apparently head over heels for."
Zayden felt his chest warm. "Zayn has a big mouth."
"He does," Isabella agreed cheerfully. "So? When am I going to meet her? When do I get to meet my future daughter-in-law?"
