Meng Ran stayed with Hulk in that dim space for a long time. When it was time to part, he left Hulk a domain of about fifty square meters.
This was Meng Ran's gift to Hulk after he had refined his mental power.
With this domain, Hulk wouldn't have to stay in that chaotic and oppressive space anymore.
He could stay in Meng Ran's domain, which would also help him maintain inner peace.
Meng Ran did this to try to calm Hulk down as much as possible, so that he could communicate with Banner better.
Now that Hulk's side was taken care of, the remaining problem was Banner's.
Meng Ran decided to weave a dream for Banner. Although it was called weaving, everything in it came from Banner's real memories.
What he was doing was just helping Banner recall those things hidden deep in his memory, or things he didn't want to remember.
For example, the Hulk's appearance spared him from suffering, saving him from disaster. Furthermore, the Hulk always helped him escape dangerous situations, allowing him to survive.
Banner knew all of this, but he hadn't connected the dots, nor had he considered things from the Hulk's perspective.
He was only focused on his own pain, ignoring the Hulk's.
What Meng Ran needed to do now was help Banner remember these things and encourage him to see things from the Hulk's point of view.
This was Meng Ran's two-pronged approach: a Banner capable of empathy and a Hulk who was gradually calming down.
Meng Ran believed that with his coordination, the changed Hulk and Banner should be able to reach a reconciliation sooner rather than later.
After preparing for all this, Meng Ran left.
He went outside, got into his single-person aircraft, and returned to the Hexagram Alliance's base.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains and fell across Banner's face as he lay in bed.
Feeling the warmth of the sun, Banner slowly opened his eyes. He sat up, somewhat dazed, his mind filled with the dreams he'd had the previous night.
In his dream, Banner relived the accident.
But this time, he experienced it from a different perspective, as if he were the green monster inside himself.
Experiencing the accident from Hulk's perspective allowed Banner to truly feel the pain of that event. Previously, he only remembered the time before the experiment and the aftermath of his loss of control, the pain itself was not that clear in his memory.
After reliving the experiment, he went through all the dangers he'd faced during his escape since then.
Banner didn't know what was happening to him; he'd had such a dream all night long.
He sat on the bed, lost in thought, pondering his dream. He realized that his previous assumptions might not be entirely correct.
Meng Ran resumed his normal studies after possessing Banner. With his extraordinary intellect, Meng Ran finally experienced the joy of learning, a joy that rivaled playing games.
In the following days, Meng Ran had Little White constantly monitor Banner's movements.
At the same time, the members of Hexagram Alliance were prepared to deal with any unexpected situations.
Avell University, Virginia.
Banner and Betty were walking on campus. Betty helped Banner tidy his hair, then pulled the shirt from his pants.
"I'll pull it out for you, it looks better that way," Betty said softly to Banner.
Banner looked at his former lover with some nervousness, giving a slightly restrained smile.
Just then, Banner suddenly felt something unusual around them.
Banner urged Betty to run, then he sprinted in the opposite direction.
As Banner was fleeing, several military jeeps sped out from the side, crashing through the obstructing cars and heading to encircle him.
Many soldiers also ran out behind the jeeps, gradually forming a cordon to surround Banner.
Banner looked at the soldiers closing in on him and, with no other choice, ran into a library.
He ran in front, with the armed soldiers in hot pursuit.
Soon, Banner had shaken them off, stopping in an empty area.
He quickly took out the USB drive from his pocket, then, fighting back his discomfort, shoved it into his mouth. He swallowed the USB drive.
Inside this USB drive were the files Betty had given him about his previous experiment, which were very important. They were directly related to whether he could return to normal.
As soon as Banner swallowed the USB drive, the soldiers chasing him spotted him. Seeing this, Banner had no choice but to start running again.
Just as Betty stopped her father, General Ross, Banner had escaped to an overpass. Then, soldiers on both sides blocked his path.
Cornered, Banner looked at the blocked path and completely lost his composure, not knowing what to do.
"Clang! Clang!" Two sharp sounds rang out. The glass of the overpass had been smashed, and two tear gas grenades were thrown in from outside. Seeing this, Banner quickly took off his jacket to cover his mouth and nose.
Outside, Betty watched Banner's predicament with a heavy heart. She broke free from the soldiers holding her back and rushed towards Banner.
General Ross immediately ordered the soldiers next to him to restrain his daughter. Betty hadn't run far before the soldiers tackled her to the ground again.
On the overpass, Banner saw Betty's disheveled state, and his eyes immediately flashed green. His whole body began to twitch involuntarily.
Banner on the overpass was gradually engulfed by the tear gas smoke. He convulsed and retreated, then disappeared into the smoke.
"Clap!" A hand emerged from the smoke, slapping against the overpass's glass. The glass instantly spiderwebbed with cracks.
In the next moment, green veins suddenly appeared on the hand, and the entire hand began to swell.
With a muffled growl, Banner's form gradually started to expand. His clothes ripped apart in the process, scattering on the ground, leaving only a pair of pants stretched into something like shorts.
From the outside, the tear gas obscured Banner's figure, but a massive silhouette could be seen rising.
"Roar!"
Just as everyone stared intently at the suddenly silent overpass, a roar shattered the glass, and a giant green figure appeared on the overpass.
Hulk had finally appeared again. He jumped off the overpass, surveying the surrounding soldiers. Hulk remembered that these were the people who always hurt him.
"Roar!"
He let out another deafening roar at everyone.
General Ross looked at the Hulk that had appeared, his expression calm as he raised the walkie-talkie in his hand and said in a loud voice, "Target has appeared! Team A, open fire!"
With General Ross's order, a dense barrage of gunfire immediately erupted around them.
Countless bullets rained down on the Hulk. Although these bullets couldn't penetrate his defenses, they still hurt.
The pain caused the Hulk to emit low growls. He quickened his pace, charging towards the soldiers who were firing.
Seeing the Hulk's increased speed, General Ross quickly shouted into the walkie-talkie, "Where are the caliber cannons? Get them up here, now!"
Several armored vehicles carrying cannons sped out from the side, then opened fire with all their might at the running Hulk.
Feeling the pain on his body, the Hulk's anger intensified. He slammed into an armored vehicle running alongside him.
Hulk's massive body slammed into an armored vehicle, the sheer force of the impact sending it tumbling.
Then, Hulk accelerated towards the front of another armored vehicle, stomping down with all his might and bringing it to a halt. He then proceeded to crush the front of the vehicle into a mangled mess.
Hulk lifted the now-stationary armored vehicle and hurled it at the soldiers who were firing at him. The vehicle was smashed to pieces in moments.
Next, Hulk grabbed the engine of the destroyed armored vehicle and threw it at another one.
The engine struck the armored vehicle, causing an immediate, violent explosion, engulfing everything in flames.
Watching Hulk's rampage, Blonsky, who had been observing from a distance, picked up a heavy weapon and began firing at him.
Blonsky was the soldier who had been involved in the pursuit of Banner in Brazil.
Just a few days prior, at Blonsky's insistence, General Ross had injected him with the Super Soldier Serum, enhancing his abilities.
Feeling the surging power within him, Blonsky's confidence soared, and he prepared to spar with the Hulk.
The previous battle in Brazil had shown him the Hulk's power, and as a pure warrior, Blonsky was fascinated by it.
That's why he risked everything to inject himself with the Super Soldier Serum, wanting to enhance his own strength.
As a pure warrior, Blonsky's goal was to fight the Hulk.
Blonsky fired a few shots at the Hulk and then said, "Remember me?"
"I'm not the same as before."
The Hulk didn't pay any attention to Blonsky's words. Instead, he held several pieces of car wreckage and swung them at Blonsky.
Blonsky dropped the artillery and, with his agile movements, skillfully dodged all of the Hulk's attacks. He also seized the opportunity to pull out a pistol and continuously fire at the Hulk.
Seeing that Hulk couldn't do anything to him, Blonsky couldn't help but taunt, "Is that all you've got?"
General Ross, watching Blonsky's fight, couldn't help but exclaim, "God! He's really gotten stronger!"
Hulk, feeling Blonsky's provocation, was even angrier. He endured Blonsky's pistol shots and seized the opportunity to grab Blonsky's leg as he leaped over his head.
Blonsky, feeling his leg being grabbed, thought to himself that it was bad and quickly pondered how to escape.
But how could Hulk give Blonsky a chance to escape? Hulk grabbed his leg, threw him to the ground, and tossed him around before flinging him away.
Blonsky was repeatedly slammed to the ground by Hulk, accompanied by the cracking sound of bones. His entire body's bones were shattered.
Then, thrown by Hulk, he crashed into a large tree and collapsed at its base like a pile of rotten meat.
General Ross felt a chill run down his spine at this sight and quickly picked up the walkie-talkie, wanting to give an order.
At that moment, a black figure suddenly appeared in front of Hulk.
