Hearing his questions in return, a soft, melodic laugh slipped from her lips, delicate and bright, carrying a warmth that made his chest tighten.
Her shoulders quivered slightly as the sound escaped, a gentle tremor of delight running through her.
Before she spoke again, her voice followed the laugh, light and teasing, carrying the same airy warmth that had made his chest tighten.
Every word fluttered between amusement and challenge.
"Yes, your hold did make me feel safe, your massage was more than satisfactory, and your strokes were gentle and comforting.
And yes, your touch was to my liking, and yes, I did allow you to do all those things to me, and I might even let you do it again another time if you tell me one thing."
"So, Az, was my body to your liking?"
His voice was steady and calm, smooth as polished stone, carrying a quiet confidence that made her smile brighten even more.
"Yes it was, and I enjoyed every touch and every moment," he said, calm but playful beneath the surface, as if there was no doubt within his mind.
Looking deep into his eyes that held the color of flame-kissed amber, she was silent for a few moments.
Before she answered, she spoke again and let out a small laugh that was filled with both amusement and what seemed to him like a bit of restraint.
"We should get moving again; this place is starting to really smell of burnt meat. Your arm should be good by now, right? I've noticed you've started to heal a little faster, so that's good."as As she spoke, she slowly started to get off of him.
Seeing her start to get off him, he didn't try to stop her; they could always continue this later, plus it was kind of cute the way she was trying to change the subject.
Almost like she wasn't the one who had actively tempted him while faking sleeping on him.
So instead of calling her out, he decided to let it go this one time.
"Didn't it always smell like burnt meat, though, especially considering that meat is what you used to start the fire in the first place?"
"Oh yeah, I did use some of the meat to start it, well even though it stinks it was way better than freezing to death especially because I had a little extra warmth with me" she said while her pink eyes shined with mischief as they trailed his frame.
Before she spoke again "Anyway you didn't answer my question Az, how's your arm, It feeling any better?" She asked taking a step towards him before slowly resting her hand on his wound.
In the past three days it had healed incredibly well leaving behind only a scar where the open hole once used to be.
"Am fine Liv you don't have to worry it's fine now I can even do my push up's again and I have enough feeling in it again to feel the shape and warmth of all your curves just like my other arm so isn't that a plus hahaha"
his laugh came out low and rich an attempt to get her to stop worrying.
"If you say so, but we should really be more careful Az from the spider that was on this floor to that thing we have to kill on the next our lives are really in danger so no more bets and no more splitting up ok"
"No Liv that's not fair you won the only two we did while I was being beaten into the snow"
"Well sorry Az I guess you just missed your chance, you should have done better, not my fault your a sore loser is it, so suck it up and let's get going since you feel better we only have a couple floors left on til we're free."
"Yeah what ever I still don't think this is fair though, but let's get going since we still have to kill those bastard rabbits and that thing I think is the boss, we can even get more rabbit meat in the while we're at it
Azrael stretched his newly healed arm, testing the strength in his fingers before rolling his shoulders. "Come on, Liv," he said, voice steady. "Let's go teach those bastard rabbits a lesson and get us some more dinner"
She nodded, adjusting her cloak, her expression shifting from playful to sharp. "Right. It's time to bag us some more rabbit meat, reduce them to our dinner"
Extinguishing the fire and leaving the cave they traveled back towards and below the snowy staircase eventually reaching the vary place where they ran to.
Seeing the barrier Again they had to take a deep breath before passing through again because if it wasn't for this barrier they probably wouldn't be alive right now to try again.
Stepping through the barrier this time they immediately came across a small white rabbit waiting for them like last time but Instead of jumping around and taunting them like the last one did And this one looked like it was about to do.
But This time as soon as it saw them right when it looked like it was going to jump into the air the rabbit stooped turned around sniffed the air before it's eyes turned deep red again and it let out a screech so terrible it summoned the rest of the bastard rabbits out from what ever holes they where hiding in.
SHSHSSSSSSSSHH!!!
Reaching into her shadow Oliva pulled out her dark sword and dashed toward them with out fear.
Each time she cut a rabbit died, since getting to the apprentice stage her poison had been strengthened working faster with out her having to Chanell more mana into it.
Azreal was all the same holding spear he went at the rabbits like he was a feral hunter, piercing right through their bodies with relative ease not even bothering to shake the corpses off his spear Before he slashed once again towards more rabbits.
Right as they where getting into the rhythm of Murder, of the hunt.
They suddenly heard the sound of something coming, something fast the same sound they heard as they where running away days ago
Killing all the rabbit's around them they finally turned around when the sound disappeared and there they saw it.
A Black rabbit!?
